Take time to remember the scope and significance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and keep a vertical focus. Be with us for Holy Week as we honor God and reflect on the events leading up to Christ’s resurrection, during several special worship services: Weekday Noon Meditations in the Reformation Chapel, Maundy Thursday Communion & Worship in Lee Fellowship Hall on April 2 at 6:30pm, and Good Friday Worship in the Sanctuary on April 3 at 6:30pm. fpco.org/holy

The next Young at Heart Luncheon will be on Friday, April 10 with Dianna Morgan speaking on health care. Fellowship starts at 10:30am in Lee Fellowship Hall. The program starts at 11am in the sanctuary and lunch is served at noon. Lunch is $8 and a reservation is required. RSVP to Linda McCallister at 407.423.3441 x1159 or email [email protected] by Monday, April 6.

Join us for the 2nd Annual Women Engaged Prayer Retreat, Saturday, April 11, 9am-12pm in the Reformation Chapel. This year’s retreat offers much-needed time of solitude and relaxation. WE will join together in Reformation Chapel to worship, pray and seek the Lord through personal prayer exercises, designed to help us refocus on God. The retreat and childcare are free, but registration is required at fpco.org/we.

This summer we’re hosting one of our largest events in recent history, our denomination’s General Assembly! Hundreds of volunteers will be needed throughout the week of June 22-27 to create a warm welcome. Sign up soon to be ready for the spring trainings at fpco.org/GA.

Excited to be with you on this Palm Sunday, Church! The last Sunday of the Lenten season before we enter into Holy Week. This morning we’re walking through some of the final events of Christ’s life, and reflecting on those events in prayer and song as we prepare to journey with Christ in His final week before the resurrection! Feel the freedom to sit and stand as you feel led today. Reminder–Next week we will be hosting Easter Worship at the amazing new Dr. Phillips Center for the Preforming Arts. Who are the “Maybe’s” you’re inviting? It’s going to be a glorious morning of worship and celebration! Can’t wait to be with you there! - Wil Brown

Notes

Page 5: 03.29.15 Bulletin | First Presbyterian Church of Orlando

Today begins the most significant week of events in human history. Today was the day of the triumphal entry into Jerusalem which stirred and inspired the crowds. Hopes ran high. Perhaps Jesus was finally going to assume His rightful position as the King of Israel and lead the overthrow of the Roman occupation. During the week jealousy and frustration turned to hatred, violence, and mob action. The worship service this morning begins with some of those high hopes and gradually shifts mood as we come to the conclusion of our time. The choir and children, and dancers enter in joyful procession the service concludes as the choir recesses during the last hymn as the Savior “rides in lowly pomp to die.” Please join us for every part of the events of this week as we walk with the Savior, reflecting anew on the depth of His love, commitment to His Father, willingness to suffer great pain on our behalf, and ultimately, to lay down His life to cover our sins. There is one large service this week. Part I is Maundy Thursday evening at 6:30pm, Part II is Good Friday at 6:30pm, and Part III is Easter morning at 9am and 11am at DPAC. In addition, there are half-hour noontime services each day of the week in the Reformation Chapel. Beginning this morning, plan to be a part of this most significant week. - Dr. Dan Sharp
