OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME. THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD; AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS, AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS; AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION, BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL. FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM AND THE POWER AND THE GLORY, FOREVER. AMEN .

WELCOME!

NEXT STEPLove the City Beautiful this week. Did you know we serve breakfast to the homeless community of Orlando every Sunday morning? We average 150 people; over 7,000 breakfasts served each year through a partnership of our Compassion Corner ministry with Central Care Mission. We offer a hot meal with coffee and a time of worship together each week, and there’s a spot for you to come and serve any Sunday. This is also a great opportunity for families to learn about humble and respectful mission together. To join in, meet at 6:15am in Lee Fellowship Hall.

THIS WEEK

South Orange Ave. will be closed between Anderson St. & South St. beginning Saturday, July 19 through Sunday, Aug. 10. The right turn lane on eastbound South St. onto southbound Orange Ave. from Boone is unavailable during this time. Streets immediately around the First Pres campus and parking garage will be open. Visit fpco.org for detour maps.

The Women’s Cancer Support Group meets this Wednesday, July 16 in room EMC-340 from 12pm-1pm. If you are preparing for, or currently undergoing treatment for cancer, we encourage you to join. For more information, contact Linda McCallister at x1159 or email [email protected].

Thank you for coming to First Presbyterian Church of Orlando this morning! So glad you’re here. We worship together as a church family in four services on Sundays: Traditional worship in the Sanctuary at 8:30 and 11am, and Genesis worship in Lee Fellowship Hall at 9:45am and 11am. If you’d like to connect and learn more about this church, one of our leaders will be available at the front of the room after worship, or you can visit fpco.org/guest.

NEXT WEEK

Join us for our monthly Evening Prayer Service this Wednesday, July 16 at 6:00pm in Lee Fellowship Hall. Be with us as we seek God’s voice in our lives.

Ladies, join us Wednesday, July 23 from 6-8pm in Lee Fellowship Hall for Summer Nights & Salads with a feature presentation by professional organizer, Kim Bignon, specializing in systems that simplify your life and help you win back time. Invite your friends, co-workers, neighbors and family! The cost is $25 (including a yummy summer salad buffet) and registration closes July 16. Questions? Contact Lori Needham at [email protected].

There are two right outside the Sanctuary: one in the Grand Hallway leading to the Edington Ministry Center, and one across from the entrance to the Prayer Room. If you’re in Lee Fellowship Hall, look for one to the right of the exit as you leave.

The bulletins are reused for the 11:00am worship service, and recycled on Monday morning.

NOTESFAMILIES AT FIRST PRESFirst Pres has three rooms to help young families on Sun-day mornings: one nursing room for mothers & infants, next to the Prayer Room, between the Sanctuary and Lee Fellow-ship Hall, and a second nursing room for mothers & infants, on the 1st floor of Clayton Life Center next to the elevators.

In addition, we have a Family Room for infants, children and dads :-) , also on the first floor of Clayton Life Center.

All three rooms have a live television feed from the worship services.

Good morning everyone and welcome back to worship! I trust you had a fun and safe 4th of July weekend and that no houses were burned to the ground due to improper Black Cat usage.

For the next two weeks Braiden Wood, Luke Domeck, Danny Strong, Jacob Morton, and I will be leading worship at Fun In The Son in Hilton Head. Some friends of mine, whom I love and trust to lead worship well, are stepping in today and next Sunday.

Dave Burleson is leading for me this week. He currently serves on the Summit staff and is a great musician & worship leader. Be blessed by his leadership today! - Wil Brown

G E N E S I S W O R S H I P T R A D I T I O N A L W O R S H I P

The human will is a paradoxical mystery. Paul, in the latter part of his life, writes in Romans that he does not do what he wants to do, and, in fact, all too often does the very thing he does not want to do. The worship service today points us in the direction of choosing to do God’s will. One of the challenges of our society’s ability to think comes to the surface at this very place. The false assumption of our culture is that if we simply know enough, we will choose rightly. In this kind of thinking, our societal problem is a lack of education on various matters. We need to spend more time and money on educating people and then they will do the right thing, or so goes the logic! The truth is, in your life and mine, there are plenty of times when we’ve known the right thing to do, and did the opposite, not because we were ignorant, but because we were willful. In His prayer, Jesus makes very clear that God’s will is done in heaven and that you and I have a chance to do His will here on earth. May this morning worship strengthen our “will” to do His will. - Dr. Dan Sharp

*Passing of the Peace & Pastoral Notes St. Paul always greeted with the words, “The peace of God be with you.” This is an appropriate way to greet fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, and so we say, “The peace of the Lord be with you” and respond, “And also with you.” We then pass this greeting of peace to one another. At the passing of the peace we should earnestly desire God’s peace upon each person we greet.
