OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME. THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD; AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS, AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS; AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION, BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL. FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM AND THE POWER AND THE GLORY, FOREVER. AMEN .

What’s in a name? When Moses was at the burning bush receiving the call to go back to Egypt to lead the Israelites out of bondage, he asked God, “Who shall I say sent me?” In other words, what is your name? In biblical times and even today, names are associated with specific meanings. In God’s case, His name was “I AM WHO I AM” or “I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE.” In that name, God is telling Moses and us that He is outside of time, yet forever in the present and in the future. His words were also, “I am the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, indicating among other things, life after death. Note the “I am” not the “I was.” In this worship service we are focusing on the holiness and sacred character of God’s name. He is a holy God who has invited us into His presence. - Dr. Dan Sharp

*Passing of the Peace St. Paul always greeted with the words, “The peace of God be with you.” This is an appropriate way to greet fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, and so we say, “The peace of the Lord be with you” and respond, “And also with you.” We then pass this greeting of peace to one another. At the passing of the peace we should earnestly desire God’s peace upon each person we greet.

WELCOME!

July 6, 13, 20, & 27Conway Cares is the in-school food pantry supporting hungry kids at several local schools in our own neighborhoods (started by a First Pres LIFE Community). Throughout July, we’re collecting non-perishable food items for children to eat at home on the weekends and after school.

LOOK FOR COLLECTION BINS IN THE EDINGTON CENTER LOBBY AND UNDER THE ANGEL WING (BETWEEN ALLEN HALL & THE SANCTUARY)

Questions? Email Robin Boyd at [email protected] or call x1474.

July 28 - August 1Give a couple of hours in your day and help your neighbor in need! Every year, First Pres commits to serving lunch each day for one week at the Christian Service Center’s Daily Bread. We only need 10 volunteers each day of the week, and we have a spot for you.
