Reflection Twenty-First Sunday of Ordinary Time
Jesus established a concrete community of followers who were to understand themselves as heirs to the covenant
life of Israel, working out our collective salvation in the context of divinely established earthly
authority. Believing that the authority of God works through human frailty.
“Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven!”

The resurrection choir is a great way to help families and friends celebrate the life of deceased loved one. The funeral mass or memorial can be a special time of Thanksgiving, hope, and appreciation. Please con-sider making participation in the resurrection choir part of your stewardship. You would receive a call letting you know of a funer-al. It would be a big help, whenever your schedule permits, to join this small choir. If you will share in this ministry, please contact the parish office or call
Marlene Langdon at 402-8099
If the Holy Spirit has been moving your heart to help out a little more, please help us serve
the Lord at our masses by becoming a much need usher!

Heavenly Father, We could never thank our military men and women enough for their cou-rageous service and sacrifice to our country and its people. Show us ways in our communities, churches, and families to thank and love them better. Keep and protect these heroes and their

“There are different gifts but the same Spirit, there are different ministries but the
same Lord . . . To each person the manifestation of the spirit is given for the
common good.” Every person is called to contribute to the liturgy in a manner suited to his or her unique talents. It takes the help of many people serving in a variety of differ-ent liturgical ministries to help the liturgy flow smoothly and enable the participation of the assem-bly. At the present time there is a serious need for volunteers in all ministries at St. Gerard’s. We invite you to prayerfully reflect on the gifts God has given you and consider volunteering your talents for one of our ministries.
Training: Training is provided to help you get started in all the listed ministries.
Scheduling: Liturgical ministers are scheduled at the Mass time of their preference as often as fits their schedule and are asked to arrive 30 minutes be-fore their scheduled Mass begins.
Contact: Please see list of ministries, below. Call the leader of the ministry you are interested in to vol-unteer or for further information.
