Reflection Twentieth Sunday of Ordinary Time

A God who longs to be in relationship with ALL peoples; A God who desires that “my house shall be called a house of

prayer for all peoples.” It doesn’t matter whether they are “locals” or “foreigners.” God’s justice and salvation are

generously promised and given to all who sincerely seek the Lord.

Let us be as bold to believe it and to act on it – seeking God’s mercy, love and healing.

Maintenance Minister Needed!!

Has God given you talent with carpentry with a knack for fixing things? Do you have 2-3 hours a week to give back to God for these special gifts? St. Gerard needs you now! Help your church stay safe and looking good by getting involved with our team of ministers. Basic carpentry and light maintenance such as changing light bulbs, fixing a door, etc. are a few of the duties we seek to fulfill. Please contact Annie McDevitt at 386-427-4604 or Jim Bourne at 386-409-7804 for more details.

Heavenly Father, We could never thank our military men and women enough for their cou-rageous service and sacrifice to our country and its people. Show us ways in our communities, churches, and families to thank and love them better. Keep and protect these heroes and their

families, in the powerful name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

MEMORIAL BRICK PROGRAM –

Orders for the brick garden are on hold while managing the garden transfers from the Knights of Columbus to the St. Vin-cent de Paul Conference at St. Gerard. Last orders will be put into the garden sometime in August 2017. Afterward, SVdP will take over.

“There are different gifts but the same Spirit, there are different ministries but the

same Lord . . . To each person the manifestation of the spirit is given for the

common good.” Every person is called to contribute to the liturgy in a manner suited to his or her unique talents. It takes the help of many people serving in a variety of differ-ent liturgical ministries to help the liturgy flow smoothly and enable the participation of the assem-bly. At the present time there is a serious need for volunteers in all ministries at St. Gerard’s. We invite you to prayerfully reflect on the gifts God has given you and consider volunteering your talents for one of our ministries.

Training: Training is provided to help you get started in all the listed ministries.

Scheduling: Liturgical ministers are scheduled at the Mass time of their preference as often as fits their schedule and are asked to arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled Mass begins.

Contact: Please see list of ministries, below. Call the leader of the ministry you are interested in to volunteer or for further information.
