Sacrament of Baptism: The Sacrament of Baptism should be celebrated as soon as possible after birth. Therefore parents should contact the parish office prior to the child’s birth. This will allow adequate time for the necessary preparation of the parents and the Godparents.
Sacrament of Reconciliation: On Thursday’s from 6:15-7:00 PM at St Gerard or by appointment.
First Reconciliation and First Communion, Sacrament of Confirmation: Please contact the Coordinator of Religious Education (María Morales) for more information.
Sacrament of Marriage: Requires at least nine months of preparation before the Marriage. Contact the Pastor, through the parish office, to start the process.
Pastoral Care: Please contact the parish office if you are aware a parishioner sick and desires to receive the Eucharist, Anointing of the Sick or a visit from the Pastor.
Parish Registration forms are available through the office and under the bulletin boards in the commons.
Sacramento del Bautismo. El Sacramento del Bautismo debe ser celebrado después del nacimiento del niño, o tan pronto como sea posible. Los padres deben llamar a la oficina de la parroquia antes de la fecha del nacimiento para que los padres y padrinos reciban la preparación necesaria.

Ticket Lottery for Jan. 12 Bishop Installation Mass Parishioners, students and educators hoping to participate in the joy and
excitement of the Jan. 12 Mass of Installation for the Catholic Diocese of
Richmond’s new Bishop Barry C. Knestout now have a chance to secure
admission to the special Mass by entering a lottery. Seating for the 2
p.m. event at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart will be extremely limited
so the faithful are encouraged to enter the drawing for admission tickets
by completing the online form here:

The last day to enter the drawing is Friday, December 29, 2017. The
drawing will be held in early January with two tickets awarded to each
selected registrant. Those selected will have 48 hours to respond before

CHRISTIAN FORMATION
There are no Sunday classes on December 24 or 31. We resume classes on Sunday January 7
th.
There are no Monday classes for 6-12 grades on December 25 and January 1
st.
FORMACIÓN CRISTIANA
No habrá clases de domingo el 24 ni el 31 de diciembre. Las clases se reanudan el 7 de enero. Tampoco habrá clases de lunes el 25 de diciembre y el 1º de enero. La próxima sesión de Formación para los Adultos es el domingo 7 de enero en el santuario a las 10:45AM.
EVERYONE’S catechetical responsibility flows from the waters of baptism. At baptism, all Christians are commissioned to share in Jesus' ministry. This is an essential part of being Christian. To be baptized is to stand as one of Jesus' disciples, ready to do his work. Please act on this responsibility and become a catechist. For new catechists, training will be provided on February 3
rd
2018, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Salem. Please let María Morales know as soon as possible if you are interested in this wonderful and rewarding ministry.
La responsabilidad catequética de cada uno viene de las aguas del bautismo. En el bautismo, todos los cristianos somos comisionados a compartir en el ministerio de Jesús. SACRAMENTO DE BAUTISMO Próxima charla pre bautismal: será en enero 2018.
Próximas fechas de bautismo: Serán dentro de las misas del sábado/domingo 27-28 de enero
2018. Solo tres niños por misa.
Las familias interesadas deben: 1.) asistir a misa todos los domingos, 2.) Estar inscritas en la parroquia, 3.) Tener llena la forma de inscripción al bautismo. Los niños NO deben venir a la plática para evitar interrupciones.
RCIA Schedule. For children and adults is Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 6:00-8:00pm. Horario de RICA. Para los niños y adultos es el martes 16 de enero de 6:00-8:00pm.
Youth Confirmation (only the candidates!), the next session is on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 6:30PM in the large classroom at St. Gerard, by the office side. Candidates remember that in order to participate in the program you should be attending the Monday classes, unless you attend Catholic School. What saint are you working on?
