Murwillumbah East Primary School Newsletter Term 4, Week 2 18th October, 2016 Term 4 Walking past the classrooms and around the playground, it is wonderful to see our students so settled and producing excellent work. Term 4 is upon us and is a term full of exciting activities with excursions and pool days but it is also a time to strive for personal bests in our academic areas. Our teachers have created many exciting learning opportunities for the students where they can apply their knowledge and understanding but also question and become efficient problem solvers in this changing world we live in. Young Entrepreneurs Today on the news I heard about young entrepreneurs who have developed a tag for school hats and jumpers. The tag has a number on it and when you purchase a new jumper or hat it is registered online. If the hat is lost at school and turns up in the lost property the parents are sent a text message automatically. This is the world we are living in. These young entrepreneurs are not very old. Education is teaching kids to think, question and problem solve but also invent. Term 4

Walking past the classrooms and around the

text message automatically. This is the world we

are living in. These young entrepreneurs are not

very old. Education is teaching kids to think,

question and problem solve but also invent.

Infant’s Playground Equipment

Year 1 and 2 are currently questioning the

usefulness of the infant’s playground equipment.

We will be applying an inquiry based learning

model to assist the students to question and

problem solve. Who knows what wonderful ideas

they will think of? Watch this space.
