Basic Information Regarding the Sacraments

Holy Eucharist We truly believe in the Body and Blood of Christ that was broken and shed for us! We ask that you be in good standings with the Lord as you join us every Mass for Holy Eucharist. All are Welcome to His table!! “Jesus said to them, ‘I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life … For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains

in me, and I in him … so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.’”

placing his enemies under his feet. Those whose names are in the

Book shall live forever in light and joy.

REMEMBERING OUR LOVED ONES

By tradition, the Catholic Church dedicates the month of November to the Holy

Souls in Purgatory, those faithful Christians who have died and gone before us

but who still must atone for their sins. The time they spend in Purgatory cleanses

them so that they may enter Heaven free from all effects of sin.

Praying for the dead, especially for those we have known, is part of Christian

charity. Our own prayers and sacrifices can be offered up to relieve their suffer-

ing. The parish will offer over 40 Masses this November for all the faithfully departed whose names are writ-

ten in the Book of Memory. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to pray for and remember your parents,

children, grandparents, family and friends. Donations are welcomed for your sacrificial offering to pray for

the deceased.

Religious Education: “Not a Fan”

“It shall be a time unsurpassed in distress since nations began until that time.”

~Daniel 12:1

Today it is popular to talk about “stress management” and being “stressed out.” The times in which we live

are very stressful. However, the end of the world will be much more stressful. “Those times will be more

distressful than any between God’s work of creation and now, and for all time to come” (Mk 13:19).

The end-time will be more stressful than the atom bombings and concentration

camps of World War II, than plagues, earthquakes, and other disasters. “Indeed,

had the Lord not shortened the period, not a person would be saved. But for the

sake of those He has chosen, He has shortened the days” (Mk 13:20). At the

very end, even the strongest Christians will be pushed to their limits.

Why does the Lord tell us about the ultimate stress of the future? He is not try-

ing to increase our stress in the present, but to prepare us for the future and make

the present more peaceful. Jesus said: “I tell you all this that in Me you may find

peace. You will suffer in the world. But take courage! I have overcome the

world” (Jn 16:33). Jesus promised: “My peace is My gift to you; I do not give it

to you as the world gives peace. Do not be distressed or fearful” (Jn 14:27). We

deal with stress not by getting out of stressful circumstances, but by getting into

Jesus. We don’t manage stress; we let Jesus our Lord manage us.

The "Cards of the Deck" is a social club that we are forming right now by taken person’s

information so we can plan a date for this group to meet. Anyone who is 50 years old or

older is welcome to join us. We play bingo, cards, games, and enjoy each others’ com-

pany. Our plan for this group is to meet with our first meeting as a business meeting fol-

lowed by bingo and then cards.

Then the second meeting we celebrate the birthdays of our members during that month and then play cards and so-

cialize. Then the third meeting we have a potluck where all the members bring a dish. After the potluck we play

cards and socialize. The fourth meeting will be a Mass and offer any prayers and then play games.

When there are five weeks in a month the Mass and prayers are scheduled for that day rather than the fourth Thurs-

day. If you are seeking companionship and want to meet new people, Please email the Parish Office if you would

like to be added to the list and be informed of all the dates and when this Ministry will start.

The Giving Tree

Share Christ’s love and bring smiles to

children and families for Christmas. We

have a number of families in our com-

munity who are unable to buy their child

a gift for Christmas. With your help, we

can make sure that each child receives

at least one gift.

Beginning Saturday, December 1st, I

will email a list of some children in Laurel, Montana that are in need of

Christmas. Please consider, adopting a child or children by emailing the

parish and letting us know which gender and age you would like then wrap

the gift and attached a tag with “Gender & Age” and give to Father M.J. to

take to Community Hope. Continue to pray and help another child through-

out the season of Advent up to Sunday, December 16th when all gifts will

be delivered on that Monday.

We gather to understand our life and where God is calling us! Am I meant to be

a part of St. Maximilian Kolbe? Will this help me in my life, how can I share

about my faith with others?, family? Then this group will help you answer many

of those questions! If your unhappy with the parish you are with or unsure where

God wants you in His plan, please call or email us and allow us to help you.

Year of Faith Prayer

May this Year of Faith be a year

to help me appreciate the gift of

faith, deepen my relationship

with God, and strengthen my

commitment to sharing faith

with others.

May I recognize the face of

Christ in those who are

suffering, and help them

along the journey of life.

May I not grow lazy in the faith.

My I be enlightened in mind, and

heart by the word of the Lord.

May I be capable of opening the

hearts and minds of many to the

desire of God, and for true life,

life without end. Amen.

Words of wisdom here

“By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is es-tablished; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.”

33rd Sunday of Ordinary Time ~ Year B Page 9

I pray for anyone who has a lack of belief in the power of God or in the very words of Jesus who said to His

disciples:"Amen, amen I say unto you: He that believeth in me, hath everlasting life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the desert, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven; that if any man eat of it, he may not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If any man

eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood,

you shall not have life in you. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth

my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father; so he that eateth me, the same also shall live by me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead. He that eateth this bread, shall live for ever" (John

6:47-59)

Belief in the Eucharist is easy for those who do not doubt what God can do... that He hides Himself in the breaking of bread so that by eating of the Flesh and Blood of the Lamb (read Exodus Ch. 12 in which the Israelites were commanded to eat the flesh of an unblemished Lamb and to sprinkle its blood upon their doorposts and anyone who did not eat of this lamb would enter into death), Jesus may make His home in us. If you do not have the eyes to see Him and recognize Him in the breaking of bread, I pray that the Blood of the Lamb may be sprinkled over your eyes so that you may see and recognize Him. May you learn that you may not even be able to recognize Jesus living in your midst just like the 2 disci-ples who were walking along the road to Emmaus. It was only after Our Lord had opened their hearts to the Holy Scriptures that were written about Him that they longed for Him to remain with them and then their eyes were opened and saw Him only after recognizing Him in the breaking of bread.

Part 2 of 2

I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, for the life of the world. (John 6:51-52)

And it came to pass, whilst he was at table with them, he took bread, and blessed, and brake, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew him: and he vanished out of their sight.

(Luke 24:30-31)

For Those Who Do Not Believe Jesus Is Physically Present In The Eucharist...

Pastor’s Notes

We are reminded this Thanksgiving that love and faith is what truly keeps a family to-

gether. We gather around our family and friends to celebrate the many things that we are

all “thank-ful” but we oversee the one that we need to show thanks too. In our busy life

and time this holiday we don’t see the point to stop and thank God for all the time He as

helped us out or the prayers that we ask of Him.

When we pray this year let us stop for a second as a family and reflex on the time we have

had and the time we have now and each rejoice with something that we are very much

“thank-ful.” If you can visit the elderly or take a dish to one of the truckers this year and

let them know they are loved. When we act as servants we are then rewarded with the

greatest gift from God, that would be grace!

JMJ, +M.J.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God and inerrant in the original writings. We

believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our

Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed

blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and

glory.

We believe that the lost and sinful man must be saved, and that man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of

Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We believe in and practice the holy ordinance of water baptism, which signifies the believer's

death, burial, and resurrection into new life with Christ Jesus, and the regular celebration of Holy Communion as commanded

by our Lord.

We believe in the present ministry and baptism of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the

unsaved; those that are saved into the resurrection of life and those that are unsaved into the resurrection of death.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
