Employee Motivation

By Paul Nguyen & Joshua Taub

The ideal organization motivates its employees

with a combination of motivators and hygiene

factors.

but…

what motivates YOU at work?

BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAHBLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAHBLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAHBLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAHBLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH

because we found out that…

chose hygiene factors50%

and…

chose motivators!50%

CONFUSEDm

uch?

Ye olde intermission

Now for…

Quick(boring)facts!

hygiene factors :

do not give positive satisfaction, though

dissatisfaction results from their absence. These

include aspects such as company policies,

supervisory practices, or wages/salary.

According to Herzberg…

motivators :

that give positive satisfaction, and these include aspects such

as recognition, achievement, or personal growth.

Now back to the regular program!

What does this sh*t actually mean?

In non-business English,

temporary motivation

actual motivation

Hygiene factors =

Motivators =

…and in a business English,

the exact same sh*t.

P.S. Pardon our crude language

can you relate to this?

Would hygiene factors help in this

situation?NO!

Do motivators actually help motivate

employees?

YES…

and no.

Well in the ideal organization…We actually need a combination of BOTH,The best of BOTH worlds!!

HYGIENE FACTORS!

& MOTIVATORS!!

yay!

A great example of this would be the Googleplex!

The end.(you’re welcome…)
