FRONT PAGE GREEN LIGHT FOR CAR PARK PROJECT:
Mike from parking technology company
PGA has lost count of the number of car
park systems he’s installed around Sydney.
Major shopping centres, commercial
premises, hundreds of big developments.
But never a hospital car park. Until now.
The red light/green light parking guidance
system so familiar to us from shopping
centre car parks has arrived at Blacktown
Hospital and Mike says “you’re gonna love
it”.
Blacktown Hospital’s new car park
extension is due to open next week and
will be the first hospital in NSW with the
system. It also includes a blue light/green
light to designate available disabled
parking spaces. See the full story on The
Pulse.
PARKS AND VALIDATION: As part of our Blacktown P1
expansion, a new Wilson Parking office is now open and
conveniently located in the car park pedestrian entry for
ticket validation and enquiries. Craig and Fred from
Taylor constructions were on site with Jeremy and Loren
from Wilson parking for final commissioning.
OFFICE-ALLY OPEN GLASS HALF FULL
TANGERINE DREAM: The view from our project office is
rapidly changing as construction rises around us. Project
officer Nirajan captured this peek of level 4 shared services
from between the ruby and tangerine glass fins this week.

TRUE TO TYPE TYPES SET: Prototype rooms are one of the most
powerful tools in planning and design. They bring our
documentation to life, and allow staff and consumers to
physically experience a space before it’s built.
Prototyping helps alert us to any changes we can make now
before things are literally set in concrete. It’s also a chance
to ask if we can make further enhancements to support
patient care, or the staff’s experience of their work
environment.
Clockwise from top left: our executive committee inspect
progress on a four-bed newborn care bay; the group on
site; in the operating theatres; the CSB from the theatre
floor; and an ICU room. Thanks to AW Edwards for the tour.

A quirky perspective on our
new P1 multi-storey car park
stairs. Eventually our car park
will connect via a bridge to
the new acute services
building, but for now, take the
stairs or lifts to the ground
level and follow the signs to
main entry.
