A walk in

the

Western

Sydney

Parklands We’re proud to welcome Western

Sydney Parklands to our Kaleidoscope

arts and culture program. Western

Sydney Parklands has generously

donated a number of images for our

patient transport corridors on level 2.

The images will bring the fresh green

beauty of the parklands into the

hospital, providing a calm and engaging

gallery for patients moving between

theatres, wards and imaging

departments.

And the best thing is that the real

parklands are right on our doorstep!

Western Sydney Parklands is “Sydney’s

Biggest Backyard” and covers more than

5,000 hectares and features a great

assortment of picnic areas, walking and

cycling tracks, and other entertainment

facilities.

While popular spots such as Lizard Log

might be instantly familiar to local

residents, the sweeping hills, bushlands

and tracks featured in our murals might

be places you’ve never seen before.

Thank you to the Western Sydney

Parklands and their photographers

Sylvia Li, Simon Wood and Brett

Hemmings for their generous support.

Unlike the NSW Blues in this week’s State of Origin, our blue wheelchairs are a winner! Enda from Midmod, Jenny, Rhonda and Sukhjeet lend a hand at the Loading Dock.

The Newborn Care team stepped out on the level 6 terrace during their site inspection for a photo opportunity with the new river bed artwork.

Purple People Matter Have you completed your People Matter survey? It’s

completely anonymous, only takes a few minutes, and

your views can help create a better working environment

for everyone in the NSW Public Sector.

Congratulations to Mount Druitt General Services and

Blacktown Pathology for winning a well-deserved Uber

Eats voucher for a team lunch.

The General Services team went all out with handmade

paper ties, fairy wings and fascinators. And it was

definitely a case of “purple reigns” in Blacktown Pathology.

Planning

ahead Our BMDH leadership team

got together this week to

progress our MOVE

planning. Like our stage 1

MOVE program, we will

have a comprehensive plan

to relocate patients, staff

and services safely into the

new facilities. More details

soon.

Making an entrance. Our main entry is now called Entry 1.

If you’re coming to the hospital, you will be walking from Entry 1 into the Atrium which connects you to Hospital Street.

Entry 2 is the cancer centre entry near WH Smith.

It’s all part of creating a simpler wayfinding strategy for the hospital.

Have a safe and happy long weekend!
