COLOURS

The field of colour psychology at tempts to identify the ef fect of colour on human

emotion and activity. Colour is used for communicat ing act ion (think traf f ic lights)

and inf luencing mood. It h a s different associat ions in different countries and

cultures. It is the cata lyst that c an add spark to a space or impact its ambience.

The concept of colour psychology is appl ied in art, design, marketing and branding,

and in many other areas. In fashion, colour trends change with the season,

inf luencing and inspiring unique creations. Colour forecasts much ahead of the

season help designers make the right choices a s using the right colours is critical

to the success of their creations. We present here the colour forecast for Autumn/

Winter 2015/16 and for Spring /Summer 2016.

Autumn/Winter2015/16

This season, there is a move toward an eclect ic and ethereal mix of brights with

saturated colours. Remembrances of retro delights, folkloric and floral art. Our

colours tell a story of subtle, atmospheric and sophist icated range of misted and

bright luminescent colours, g iv ing a n impression of how one feels. A wonderful array

of Nature’s hues intermingle and are simpli f ied through d imming and reducing

their volume. The strong and rich are used boldly. Dark shades and eye -ca t ch ing

highl ights alternate to create bold statements. The understated dark complexity

of the subliminal talks in a quiet murmur, putt ing goose bumps on your skin and

instantly chang ing your mood.

Spring/Summer 2016

Colours reflect empa thyand warmth.Theyare optimistic, peacefu l and harmonious,

but a t the s ame time, pushing the boundaries of new ideas and combinations, The

messa ge is instant, bas i c and fun, but cools easi ly to an elegant neutral pace.

Greens and blues and pastel pinks dominate this story, and are partnered with a

crescendo of warm contrasts spotl ight ing on strong saf fron yellows and turmeric

gold.Iconic colours rooted in history. Displaying modernity, energy and curiosity,

the trend highl ights a contemporary collection of colours that jump about and

move up and down the scale, whether dark, bright, loud or soft.
