Principal’s Report
Another busy week at CPS has included……
A Professional Learning trip to Sydney for Mr Harvey and
Mrs Knight. They have travelled to Campbelltown to attend a
STEM presentation by Ralph Pirozzo. They will be returning
with ideas to include in our classrooms relating to the latest
educational thinking in Science, Technology, Engineering
and Mathematics. A Learning and Support Team staff mem-
ber will be attending a local NDIS workshop at the end of the
week.
The Peachey Richardson Shield Competition on Tuesday.
….Mr Finn and Mrs Carter tell me that it was an outstanding
day with all Cobar teams being noted for their great sports-
manship. The junior rugby league team improved their game
as the day progressed and all teams played ‘hard but fair’
with good communication and tackling skills evident. The
girls playing rugby league were noted for their outstanding
enthusiasm. The 3 netball teams all enjoyed their games
which were all very closely scored with several wins in the
senior teams.
Next week we will have the Food Security Project Officer
from Red Cross visiting and presenting Good Food Work-
shops across Zinc and Copper team. Students will be learning
about healthy food and how to make their own healthy sand-
wiches.
Crazy Hair Day on Friday will see us all coming along to
school with a new style. SRC are leading that event with
monies raised going toward the Leukaemia Foundation.

RESPONSIBLE RESPECTFUL
Latifah Rice Dylan Canavan
LEARNER
Ernie has been watching Latifah use a polite
voice, following instructions and sharing
equipment in the classroom. She is always
willing to help others in learning centres and
helps pack up the activities at the end of the
session. Latifah is well mannered, respectful to
students and staff throughout her learning
time. Great effort Latifah!!
Wow! Ernie was impressed by Dylan when he heard
how well he has been reading this term. Dylan has
learnt to use lots of strategies to improve his
fluency and comprehension.
Maharlia Foodey has been spotted by Ernie
being responsible in our school garden. She
always wears her hat when she is working in the
tyre garden area. She moves safely around the
garden, especially if she is carrying tools.
Maharlia shows fairness when tasks are being
done in the garden and makes sure the Gold
Team students have a turn at watering and
digging.
