Principal’s Report
STEAM night this week drew quite a large turnout. It was great
to see so many of our students, students from the other primary
school as well as home schooled students, participating in the
activities. The attendance of so many students who don’t attend
CPS demonstrates how many opportunities we offer. Thanks to
all of our hardworking staff for their time in organising, setup
and running of the activities, great job everyone.
PLP meetings finished up this week. Thank you to the vast
majority of parents of Aboriginal students who worked with us to
develop individual learning pathways for students.
An instance of inappropriate use of social media has come to
light this week. A picture of one of our teachers was posted on a
student’s social media and whilst this was done to demonstrate a
positive reflection of the teacher, we ask that parents speak with
their children about this type of posting. It is not appropriate for
students to post pictures and remarks about teachers.
We have also been made aware that students are using social
media platforms such as TikTok, Musically and Snapchat to
harass each other and post inappropriate pictures. Whilst these
activities are not occurring in our school or during school time,
they do end up impacting student relationships inside school.
Again, we ask that parents and carers monitor children’s’ social
media usage and discuss with them what is and is not
appropriate.
Have a great weekend

Book Club
Scholastic has updated how Book Club can be ordered. They have
introduced a system called Linked Ordering Online and Payment system for parents or LOOP for short.
If, you like to order online simply go the Scholastic website, go to the
parenting payment section, choose Book Club and order what books you would like and pay with your credit card. (You do not have to send forms
back to school. Scholastic will notify me that you have placed an order)
I am also happy to accept order forms at school and can do the ordering for you if you prefer this way. Orders will need to be back to school by
Friday 22nd March, 2019. (This is issue 2)
