TRACK: First Lutheran offers track for grades 6th - 8th. If you are interested in joining the track team, please have your child sign up for the 4th quarter track elective and/or let Coach Redwine know. Practice times will be Monday and Friday from 2:30-3:20 and Tuesday & Thursdays from 3:30-4:30. We will start track practice the Monday after spring break on March 23rd.

Mrs. Harbeson: Hi Everyone! We're entering the final days of the third quarter, and there's a lot going on. Please check out my website ([email protected]) to see what we'll be doing in class. You can also click on the school announcements page on my webpage to see what's going on school-wide. Next week we'll be celebrating National Lutheran Schools Week with a variety of special activities. We'll have special dress up days; we will take a field trip to the YMCA next Thursday afternoon; and we'll end the week (and quarter) with an 8th grade vs. faculty volleyball game next Friday afternoon. The next few weeks will be busy, but fun! Blessings on your week!

Mrs. Hanson: Parents!! I am very interested in adding some awesome awesome tools to my inquiry style science classes. They are called MaKey Makey. (Please visit my website for more info). Students will love exploring and discovering the science of circuits, electricity, coding, etc. with these "toys"! We are looking for anyone willing and able to donate toward the purchase of 5 Makey Makeys. I have found them at a discounted price, but this discount runs out Friday. If you would like to contribute, please let me, Mr. Birnbaum, or the office know as soon as you can. Donations will be taken after Friday as well because we plan to purchase a couple if we cannot get donations for all 5.

6th Grade is almost finished with the content for this chapter but we will now be participating in some inquiry activities, creating our investigations to explore forces in motion.

7th Grade's volcano reports were very well done! The papers were some of the best papers I have seen from any other class on this report. We will be transitioning into the atmosphere next.

8th Grade is rocking through genetics. Everything they have learned this chapter, they have basically taught themselves! I am so proud at how this class has taken charge of their own learning.

Mr. Covert: We’re a week and a half away from the end of the third quarter! We’re moving right along as we look forward to the start of the last quarter and as we get closer to the fulfillment of God’s promises of salvation in this Lenten season. God’s blessings on the rest of your week!

Page 4: Chatter 3 4 15

Classes have been moving along smoothly. The 8th grade has just started discussing the Civil War. In 7th grade, we continue to work through Europe, studying the land, people, and history of it, especially how it’s influenced us. In 6th grade, we’re pushing through the chapter on the Franks before moving on to Early England.

7th grade parents, I’m still needing some numbers from a few families so I can contact our travel agent with a good idea of how many seats and hotel rooms we’ll need. Please fast direct me with those numbers or send them with your student to school! Thanks!

Mrs. Goll: We are looking forward to celebrating National Lutheran Schools’ Week next week. What a blessing it is for us to work in a school that puts Christ at the center of every day! In math, we’re concluding chapters on quadratic equations and linear equations in algebra and pre-algebra. In 6th and 7th grade math we’re learning some basic geometry. God bless you as you continue to seek Him first.
