IT’S AUCTION TIME! The annual FLS PTL Fundraising Auction will be held April 30;

Doors open/silent auction bidding begins at 5:30, Dinner at 6:00, and live auction at 7:00. See

TALENT SHOW WRAP-UP: What a great talent show we had! Thanks, Mrs. Sibley & Mrs. Hanson, for your help. Thanks, Parents, for all your cooperation. A special shout out to those parents who worked with extra students to help them participate. And a big Thank You to our very talented students and our Student Council and Cheer MC’s.

CAMPBELL’S SOUP LABELS FOR EDUCATION PROGRAM IS ENDING…We have until the end of this school year to finish collecting labels and get them sent in before the program is discontinued. If you have any Labels for Education, please cut off the rectangle like the picture to the right, and send it to school with your student. We can use these labels to purchase p.e./recess/classroom supplies for our school!

GYM RESTROOM REMODEL - We are beginning the fundraising process to remodel the School gym restrooms. We would like to convert the two small restrooms on the South into one large girl’s restroom and the other two on the North to Boys only. The expected cost is $125,000. $7,500 has been given and will be matched by Phillips 66. If you, or a person or business you know could contribute, we would greatly appreciate it. (These are tax-deductible gifts.)

PRINCIPAL - Mr. Birnbaum: Two years ago we had 173 pre-enrolled by May 12. Last year we had 188 pre-enrolled by May 12. This year we have 187 already pre-enrolled by April 12, a month early. The First grade is full and we have started enrollment in the second 3 year old and 4 year old classes. Space is filling up.

SHORT AND SWEET: Your spouse is the person you’ll sin against the most, but they are also the person you can share the forgiveness of Christ with the most.

OFFICE WISH LIST: Thank you for the small measuring cups and droppers--I think I have enough to last me for a while now. Thanks to everyone who shared! Keep me in mind for the large, blank envelopes each month when you pay your bills, and continue to send them in--I use them regularly!

LIBRARY – Mrs. Ware: April is School Library Month! We will have a poster contest this month for a prize. Our theme will be, "Love your Library!" I want to know what students appreciate about their school library and what their favorite part about being here is! Please come see me if you need supplies. We are also observing National Poetry Month by reading and discussing poems before we check out books this month.

PRE-SCHOOL – Mrs. Herard: What a wonderful blessing to have rain! God is good indeed. This week will be super exciting with our Stephen Fite concert on Thursday. His concerts are always lots of fun! As we go early to get seats, you might want to bring something to help keep your child entertained during the wait. Bus leaves at 9:15 so we will meet you there shortly thereafter. Be sure to get armbands from me in the classroom before you leave! This week our theme is "Butterflies". God bless!

PRE-KINDERGARTEN - Mrs. Kelly: Our thoughts and prayers are with Ms. Kelly as she isn’t feeling well; we look forward to her return next week.

These are due back to me or online by next Thursday, April 21. Happy birthday to Ruby on Sunday! Have a great week!

SECOND GRADE – Mrs. Powell: Achievement Tests are going well. We're not used to listening for such a long time so it's a bit of an adjustment. Hope you're not missing homework too much. :) Memory work for tomorrow is Psalm 23. Most of the children seem to have a great start on memorizing it. Our cloud report is due Friday. We're enjoying our eggs and can't wait to have some chicks. See the Leonardo's field trip

Have a wonderful week!!!

FOURTH GRADE - Mrs. Sibley: We are well underway for our ITBS. Please continue to pray for the kids as they finish the testing. If you wish to bring in a snack for the class, you may. Continue to have the kids get plenty of sleep and eat a good breakfast before coming to school. Our incubator is full of chicks. Yesterday we candled the chicks for the first time. A permission slip will come home soon for the chicks. Ask the kids all about seeing the chicken in the egg. We will be back to a normal reading, and spelling next week. Book orders that were sent home last week are due tomorrow. Yesterday the permission slip went home for the in town field trip on the 29th. Please help the kids to continue reading their AR books. Some of are doing great, on track for the movie at the Poncan Theater; others need the daily reading. Mid-Quarter reports come out next week.

someone you know (cash donations are welcome, also). If you have questions, please contact Martha Long at 580-716-0686.

Mrs. Goll: ITBS testing is going well. Check out my bulletin board to see what new concepts each class is covering. Thank you, Room Moms, for working with us on our auction project. God bless you this week as you serve Him.

Mrs. Harbeson: Hello, Everyone! I hope you all are doing well. We've been slowly but surely making it through our ITBS tests this week, and the students are doing well. I hope everyone is coming to school well-fed and well-rested each morning. It DOES make a difference! There's so much coming up these last few weeks...I hope you are reading your Cardinal Chatter. Our final dance for the school year (and for our 8th graders) is this Friday night. Thank you, Mrs. Goll and student council, for making this a fun evening. Mrs. Hanson and the middle school are hard at work preparing for the musical that is set for Friday, April 22. Thanks for all that you are doing! 8th graders have received information from me about our upcoming trip to OSU. Our trip is set for Thursday, April 28, and we are depending on parents to get us there and back home. Please fill out the permission slip that I sent home last week and return it to me ASAP. College reports for everyone are due Monday, May 9, and all 8th graders know the day they are making their presentations. We also have the track meet coming up on May 6, graduation on May 18...and then we'll be done for the year! Try to enjoy these last few busy weeks. Blessings to you all!

Mrs. Hanson: The musical is NEXT FRIDAY!! We will have a morning "practice" performance at 8:30 for chapel and an evening performance at 6:30. We are still in need of some stethoscopes, otoscopes, and a safari hat and cargo vest. If you or someone you know would be willing to let us borrow them, it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheer clinic is going very well! I am impressed with the progress being made. Mock tryouts and real tryouts are next week after school and should last no longer than 4:30. Then the parent meeting will be Tuesday, April 26; this too is mandatory if you wish to be a part of the squad.

6th and 7th grade are wrapping up their current chapter so expect a test some time soon. 8th grade is just beginning our unit on genetics. The track meet is May 6, 7th grade runs the concession stand as our last fundraiser, if you would like to

help or find donations, please let me know. 7th graders also need to have their gift cards for the auction money tree in by next Friday. Mr. Covert: Testing week is here. I hope everyone is getting the sleep they need and a good breakfast

so they can handle the tests in the morning. While we have tests happening, we’re still having class. In 8th grade, we’re looking at World War I; the

causes, the conflict itself, and the US being drawn in, and the impact it had on the country and the world. 7th grade has moved down to Southeast Asia, as we explore the people and places in this little talked about corner of the world. The 6th grade is still going over the Middle Ages, though we are getting close to wrapping that up. Following the Middle Ages, we’ll be looking at the Renaissance and Reformation, a time period that drastically altered the world.

I pray that God continues to bless us as we go through this week in His name!
