Please check your child's planner for our choice. On Friday, around 2:20, is the 8th grade/staff volleyball game. The students are allowed to bring one snack and a drink to have during the game. Any parents that can come join us and help out during that time would be greatly appreciated! Can you believe that we only have one quarter left of 1st grade - the year has gone by very quickly. Your children have grown in so many ways and I am very proud of all of them!

Blessings. . .

THIRD GRADE - Mrs. Steichen:. Spring Fever is in the air!! The kids and I are loving this weather - trying to get out as much as we can. Social Studies: The last two or so weeks we have had an in-class project about Indian Tribes. MIDDLE SCHOOL 3/10 8th Grade: Enrollment, Q&A, Make-up

Future Freshmen Meeting, East Middle School Library, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

3/22 8th Grade: Deadline to turn in enrollment paperwork online for next years’ 9th grade at Po-Hi

3/24 Basketball/Cheer Banquet 3/27 Spring Dance, 7-9 4/9 Graduation Pictures for 8th Grade

CURRENT 8TH GRADE STUDENTS AND FAMILIES: Remember that online enrollment for Po-Hi began March 10

and will end on March 22. No changes will be available after the deadline. YMCA Field Trip—middle school students were asked to bring $4 and signed permission slips for the trip to

the Y on Thursday afternoon; we leave at 12:20 and return at 2:30. If your student has not yet taken care of that, please ask him for that form. Thanks.

National Lutheran Schools’ Week—Many thanks to the staff at the YMCA, Ponca Bowl, and Pizza Inn for working with us so graciously to provide extra fun events for our students during this special week.

StuCo—Thank you, Mrs. Faulkner, Mrs. Warnecke, and Mrs. Angle for driving first semester StuCo to the Humane Society today. And thanks, Students, for the generous donations for the animals. Second semester StuCo will go to the Humane Society in early May. The Spring Dance will be held on Friday, March 27, from 7-9 p.m. The theme will be “luau”.

Mrs. Harbeson: Well, this is it! Just two more days before the end of the third quarter! I hope you all have a great Spring Break, you come back rested and refreshed, and you are ready to finish the year strong! We will be grading folders on Thursday, and that will be about it as far as assignments go. If you will be leaving early for Spring Break, please leave me your language binder as it is worth a test grade. Please be careful and have a great week. I'll see you 4th quarter! Blessings!

Mrs. Hanson: Spring Break is next week and grades are in. Late work will not be accepted after today. 6th grade will test on Ch. 6 this Friday. Please ask your student to teach you something about forces and

motion. 7th grade has their heads up in the clouds as they study the atmosphere. Everything that they have learned

has been of their own accord! I am so proud of them for taking learning into their own hands. 8th grade will have a genetics quiz this Friday. We are also conducting an ongoing experiment with virtual fruit

flies. Ask your student what fruit flies have to do with genetics! Mr. Covert: The end of the quarter is upon us! This school year has seemed to fly by so far. In each class, we’re

getting wrapped up before we hit the end of the quarter. In 6th grade, we finished up our chapter on early France, and we’re taking a quick look at the Vikings before spring break. 7th grade will finish their chapter on Northern Europe this week, and 8th grade will be seeing how the Civil War wrapped up.

7th grade parents, keep a lookout here. We’ll be looking to have a logistical meeting for the DC trip in the first part of April; I should have the cost per person nailed down at that point, but with such a large group, there are a few things we need to look at getting figured out well in advance of our trip. So keep an eye on the Chatter in the next few weeks for a date for that meeting.

I hope everyone is doing well in this Lenten season, and I pray God continues to bless us all as we move closer and closer to the death and resurrection of Christ and the fulfillment of God’s ultimate plan for our salvation!

Page 4: Chatter 3 11 15

Mrs. Goll: Thank you, Jesus, for so many blessings! Gorgeous weather, an amazing school family, the end of a quarter, Spring Break!—just to name a few. Most of our students are still staying strong as we end this quarter. I’ve been emphasizing the need for precision and care when doing math and also the willingness to work hard and persevere when the concepts are a little bit more difficult. (It sounds like a list of many things we all need to remember for life.) We’ll be celebrating C12H22011 Pi Day in math on Friday as we will be out on Ultimate Pi Day. Volunteers may bring pie to school that day to share with classmates. We will be doing all things circular in math that day. Please keep Mrs. Harbo in your prayers as she is having foot surgery on Friday. Have an awesome spring break as you continue to seek Him first.
