A Prayer you may like to use as you prepare for worship: Lord, in Your mercy, be with all who are without hope, For the bereaved, reassure them of the power of resurrection and the presence of heaven, To the depressed and downcast, grant them a sense of Your peace and a glimpse of light in their darkness, To the anxious and fearful give them Your assurance and strength. To the homeless and unemployed, restore their security. Help all in our communities in living rewarding lives with You at the centre. Amen.

Where is God? Have you ever asked, Where is God? after you have watched the news or read the newspaper? I am sure that we all have. At Timperley on the 1st Sunday of the month, beginning Sunday 6th May, we are trialling a new type of service in place of the usual 10.30am service. We are going to meet in the Cornerstone Room around tables, drink coffee and read the newspapers together and ask the question, Where is God in this? Through discussion, prayer and reflection on Scripture we are going to try to discern an answer and hear what God may be saying to us about events in our community and the world around us. So, please join us at 10.30am, coffee from 10.15am. Bring a local or national newspaper, a newspaper cutting, magazine article or a news story that has been on your mind to share, perhaps bring a friend or neighbouror just bring yourself! If you have any unusual Christian books, newish or old, interdenominational, from commentaries to simple leaflets, they would all be gratefully received to help assist with this project.
