Jackson County Department on Aging

Dear Friends, As the weather turns cooler, we start thinking of the holidays and the fast approaching Christmas season. Each year at this time the Jackson County Department on Aging asks that you befriend our county’s elderly residents who have little or no family in the area. Many of these elderly residents are also homebound, preventing them from getting out to enjoy the decorations and events of the season. With these needs in mind, the Department on Aging is organizing Operation Christmas Box 2016. We hope that again this year we can match the generosity and good will of last year when we collected over 500 Christmas Boxes to brighten the holidays for our elderly residents. The attached flyer describes the Christmas Box we ask you to consider giving to our County’s elderly. Church groups and civic organizations can consider preparing one or two boxes for your group. If anyone in your group would like to wrap, pack or deliver Christmas boxes this year, please contact Karen Davis at the Department on Aging, 631-8041. There is no better way to enjoy the season than by giving to others. In Sincere Appreciation, Eddie Wells, Director Jackson County Department on Aging.
