Bike to Church Sunday: Sept. 5. Enjoy the last weekend of summer with a bike r ide to church. Bike rack is available outside Gary’s west entrance.

Grief Matters Support Group: Wednesdays, Sept. 8–Nov. 17, 10–11:30 a.m., in Commons A. We welcome anyone grieving the death or loss of someone to be a part of the new session of this group. Register here.

Fall Kickoff & Bible Sunday: On Sept. 12, at 9 a.m. worship, 3rd and 4th grade Bible students and Confirmands will receive Bibles. Plus, Sunday School starts again for all ages after worship at 9:50 a.m.

Walk with Winfield for Good Old Days parade: Sun., Sept. 12, meet at Winfield Community UMC at 1 p.m. Contact Fran Miller through the Church Office to participate.

Women’s Bible Study | Breaking the Code: Fir st and third Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 15, 3 p.m., in the Anderson Room. The study will dive into Revelation, using Bruce Metzger’s book, Breaking the Code. Contact the Church Office to reserve a copy of the book.

Anti-Racist Book Club | How to Be an Antiracist: Wed., Sept. 29, 7 p.m., in Gamon Hall. The Anti-Racist Book Club is returning this fall with Ibram X. Kendi's book, How to Be an Antiracist. Fifth Sunday Appeal: Today we are collecting a special offer ing for United Voices for Children. Your gift will provide suppor t for at-risk children, youth and families in Northern Illinois.

Relief for Afghanistan: If you're looking to help Afghan refugees, check out the following resources: Church Wor ld Service, Amnesty International, International Rescue Committee and UMCOR.

Donations needed: Winfield Community United Methodist Church is collecting hats, scarves, gloves and mittens for local school children who are in need. They can be handmade, store bought or gently used. Bring donations to Gary Church by Fri., Oct. 15.
