Relationship of RYLA with the community

• Club recommendations of the worthy potential leaders helps that the young leaders understand Rotary spirit. They will be our “HOPE” and “ENEGY” for future in our communities.

• Organizing RYLArian alumni makes it possible for them to participate in IM, and service project. Working with Rotarians will educate them on Rotary service spirit.

• Working with & for the community, both RYLArian & Rotarian activate energy.

• Picking the theme and problem of the community will be important to RYLA.

• Clubs will hold RYLA in turn, and we do not have much relationship with the community. We should consider RYLA, RA, IA as a whole and take more comprehensive point of view.

• RYLArians Need to know more about Rotary activities. They would be our future community leaders. It is ideal if they become Rotators and Rotarians.

• Meanwhile as District RYLA committee, we want to review the program which makes the young leaders to be true leaders.

• 2 nights and3 days seminar has little impact to the community in a short run. But we must believe our program high-lighten their quality as future leaders.

I want to learn what other District do to improve the situation.

• C

Relationship of RYLA with the community

• It is needed that we recognize the need of the community. RYLA program should face the conflict resolution of the community. We want the community youth leaders to recommend the potential leaders.

• One cannot separate leadership from the community. I want the young leaders to be able to apply what they lean at RYLA, and actively do things in the community. Continuing what you started with RYLA is must.

• Supporting RYLArian will activate the community.

• Promoting Rotary New Generation programs in the communities are meaningful.

• It would promote Rotary activities such as RYLA. RYLArian can contribute to the community. That is our purpose.

• I hope to see more recommendation and introduction of the young potential leaders from community leaders.

• Even Rotarians do not know RYLA pro9gram very well. The Rotarians involved with RYLA must

promote it strongly.

• We try to get the Committee members for RYLA, but certain clubs are sending them, but not in general.

District has to work together for RYLA, to make it more meaningful.

Page 15: RYLA: Take Your District's RYLA to the Next Level

Relationship of RYLA with the community • Participations for RYLA from Rotary families and company successors

are needed. It would lead them to be future Rotarians.

• We ask instructors for workshop from our community. This increases community understanding of RYLA.

• It is important to let the community know about RYLA.

One can consider it as an EVENT to spread understanding of Rotary.

Vision for RYLA

• It is our 2nd year, our priority is to make alumni organization of RYLA.

• RI District 2630, Fukushima has suffered earthquake & nuclear problem. Our community needs the young leaders for reconstruction.

We need better infrastucture to receive the young people, including career education. We need them to feel wanted.

• We want to support so that the RYLArian could have opportunity to work as instructers ,speakers, and counselors for RYLA.

• Plan joint RYLA seminar with neuighboring Districts

• Extend our activities beyond RYLA to all Rotary new generation programs

Page 20: RYLA: Take Your District's RYLA to the Next Level

Vision for RYLA

• One of he purposes of Rotary is to promote fellowship, international understanding & Peace. In Japan, Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship have been given generously to non –Japnese students after the war.

Rotarians have been contributing for the scholarship annually.

The majority of recipients are from Korea, China, Taiwan. We hope

that studying in post war Japan, they would understand our value and desire for peace, and can contribute for the better relationship for future.

• Rotary operates from year to year;when assigned, we are so ocupied to carry out our responsibility to do RYLA, and cannot think in long term vision.

Page 21: RYLA: Take Your District's RYLA to the Next Level

Vision for RYLA • District 2650, RYLA Committee plays 100 % role in planning &

implimenting RYLA, but in some other districts, they give that responsibility to clubs who takes turn every year. They have beginning RYLA and advanced RYLA.

• In oue Distrcit, we have 4 area, Fukui, Shiga, \kyoto, \nara and heres are 97 clubs. \i hope we have a joint RYLA.

• We want to have a system that each District can send the participants to other District RYLA, or as international RYLA, we can have the \japan R|yla Seminar fot the young leaders.

• Supporting the growth of the young community leaders with global awareness through RYLA,benefits community.

• To find and attract excellent leaders, we could have good RYLA.

Page 22: RYLA: Take Your District's RYLA to the Next Level

Vision for RYLA • To support the young generation is our goal.

• Through RYLA, understanding of Rotary would increase among the young leaders of the community. It is our goal that new generation of

Rotarians will be born from RYLA.

• For middle term, we hope to improve our RYLA for mature participants. in our District 2660, we have beginner’s RYLA in spring and advance RYLA in autumn. With improved advance RYLA, even Rotarians could learn more about leadership. That will be ideal.

• in long run we hope that alumni of RYLA could help RYLA as counselor,

then they become Rotarians in future.(we already have 13 RYLArian as “team RYLA”)

Page 23: RYLA: Take Your District's RYLA to the Next Level

Vision for RYLA • This year, under Governor’ inicitive, we hold RYLA in Miyako city in

Iwate prefecture. Theme will be be Disaster Prevention. In addition

we like to hold RYLA in neighborhood. Far away means cost increase, and less participation.

• It is “must” that District as a whole has stance for RYLA.

• The next year, we certainly want to start RYLA seminar.

• Thanks to the people working for our RYLA before us, the program makes one to discover oneself, community and the world.

Our RYLA includes junior high school student ,university students and

working people.

• We have to have instructers with global experiences to share with the young leaders.

Page 24: RYLA: Take Your District's RYLA to the Next Level

Vision for RYLA • To have a plan to emphasize uniquness of each communities within

RYLA

• To contact interact, rotaact, Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship non-Japanese recipients

• We encourage and support that RYLArians to have “contact” with each

other after RYLA and that RYLArians to opportunity to act as leaders.
