Message from the DirectorBetween his landmark acting debut as The Stop Sign in the1956 Laurel Ridge Elementary School P.T.A. production ofthe smash hit, Safety Clown Goes To Town and his Show-Stopper of the Year Roman Award-winning portrayal of thehazards of inbreeding, Bob Ewell in To Kill A Mockingbird ,the hard, coruscating, adamantine, gem-like flame of histhespic genius (tomato thespic. Ed.) consisted of his dailyattempt to give others the impression that he was actuallyinterested in what they were saying. (At this point, the shadeof Mr. Moulard’s sixth-grade English teacher, Mrs. LouiseKing rises from the grave and intones all echo-ey and spookylike, “ Robert, I suppose you think you are being clever in aliterary sort of way but that is a run-on sentence. And justwhat is that ‘gem-like flame’ truck? Have you been readingAyn Rand?” [Actually, it’s a misquoted plagiarism fromGrillparzer or Schiller, one of those Austrian Romantics; theyare all so much alike I can never tell them apart. Anyhow,Moulard never wrote anything original in his entire life. Ed.])Mr. Moulard’s monumental self-involvement, his 5-G actingtechnique (Grunt, Groan, Grimace, Gesticulate, and Gyrate),His unwavering belief that if you can fake sincerity you have itmade, and the apparent inability of local law enforcement torun him off, combined with his beauty, talent, and humilityhave made him a byword of sorts here at RLT. When MrMoulard is not grazing the boards (That should be “gracing”.Ed.) at the DeSoto, he is Artistic and Musical Director of hisworld-ignored troupe of eating and sleeping felines, The CatsOf Thousands and supports our Homeland Security efforts byvolunteering weekends with the Kingston Fire Department asthe siren. It is doubtful that he ever scuttled a cruise ship, andhe loves children if they are properly cooked. Last season, MrMoulard directed 12 Angry Men but the board let him directthis play anyway.

Special thanks to:• Melody Ann Lewis• Community Kitchen

Message from the ProducerWhat an experience this show has been! Thank you castingcommittee for selecting such an outstanding group of actors.I have really enjoyed working with each of you. This showhas had its share of challenges from the beginning, as mostshows do. Finding rehearsal spots, battling snow and icestorms, a hospitalized producer (sorry guys for theabandonment), and the list goes on. But as a group, we allpulled together and have a great show to bring to you today.I would like to give a big thanks to Bob Moulard for sharinghis dream for this show with us. Everything you see today isa vision straight from Bob. Lastly, I’d like to thank myhusband, Wayne, for his continued support during this entirejourney. I could have never made it without you. Now, all Ican say is “What a lunch!”

This past year, the Historic DeSoto Theatre Foundation was created to help securefunding to restore the DeSoto Theatre to its former splendor. With assistance from the FoxTheatre Institute, the tireless work of many volunteers and generous donations from ourmembers and friends, the rehabilitation process has begun with the repair of the ornateplasterwork in the vestibule and the complete remodeling of the upstairs meeting rooms.Although much has been done, many more restoration projects are needed.
