The Present Continuous or Present Progressive tense is used to express actions happening at the same time you are talking, for example:I am speaking English. (It's happening now).You are reading a book... He is studying the lessonShe is buying a hat

Also be used to refer to situations that occur around the time when one speaks, albeit not have to be at this moment, for example:

He is working in a bank. (It means that is his usual work, but not necessarily the person should be working now).
