FOLLOWING all the correct procedures, Afri-Forum has since 2014 on numerous occasionsrequested access to the proof of qualificationsfor Kwababana, says Very. This includes a de-gree inCivil Engineering and extensive experi-ence in water services, housing, roads, sewer-age andmunicipal infrastructure services both

in terms of construction and maintenance. To date, they have not been provided with

any proof of qualifications, but Vrey is ada-mant that they will not stop until they eithersee the proof requested or the lack thereof.“Looking at the infrastructure of Koukam-

ma, especially the roads and dilapidated wa-ter system, one is obviously bound to thinkKwababana does not have the necessary qual-ifications and the municipality is only con-cerned with the welfare of its members,” says

Very. “We cannot understand why and howshe got the position.“Upon visitingmy office, I asked her direct-

ly whether she has the necessary qualifica-tions or not. She could not answer me – shedid not say yes or no. My question is, if youhave the qualifications, why not say so? Whyall the secrecy?”According to Very, Mababana is in charge

of 10 sewerage systems, 12 water pump sta-tions and the infrastructure of 10 towns in the

Koukamma region. “Instead of things im-proving, they are getting worse by the day.Joubertina, Ravina, Louterwater and Mis-gund have been without water for weeks onend and the roads are riddled with potholes.“We are in desperate need of a Technical Di-

rector with the necessary know-how and whois capable of solving all the problems.”) The Koukamma Municipality declined tocomment on the numerous queries directedat them by the Kouga Express.

FORmore than a year OceanBasket in Jef-freys Bay has been serving its customerswith excellence, taking pride in serving af-fordable quality food with a smile.

The family-owned restaurant was re-cently awarded the much coveted HygieneAward by Food Consulting Services (FCS),an independent quality control companythat evaluates all Ocean Basket restau-rants on a three-monthly basis. The FCS Hygiene Audit or Technical Sur-

vey is designed to evaluate the hygiene, san-itation, food safety and facilities in kitchensin the food service industry. The audits areperformed for clients in the hotel, gaming, restaurant, and catering industries, and aretailor made to the unique needs of each cli-ent.A microbiological evaluation of surface

swabs, hand swabs, food samples andwatersamples forms part of the audit, and pro-vides scientific evidence as to the food safe-ty, hygiene and sanitation standards in thekitchen. The FCS Hygiene Audit ensures that a

statistically representative number of mi-crobiological samples are evaluated to beable to provide a meaningful microbiologi-cal index for the surface swabs, hand swabs, food samples and a compositemicrobiologi-cal index.Themicrobiological indices are present-

ed on a graph and tracked over the previ-ous three audits to provide a trend overtime.“Our biggest asset is our staff, who are

dedicated, friendly and passionate aboutour business. We believe in teamwork andthe results are evident in the positive feed-back we get from our valued customers,”says co-owner Claudia Smit.

Is daar ver-skillende spanne – oopgrawers, pyplêers, pyp-analitici, toegooiers?

In Joubertinaword sowat 300 huishoudings

of ’n paar lekkasies, in Joubertina is as gevolgvan ou en verweerde infrastruktuur.

JEFFREYSBAAI ENOMGEWING

Golwe,duine,dolfyne& fietsroetes

FOTO’S: JACQUES MARAIS

Jeffreysbaai bied die ideale gesinsvakansie, want terwyl pa branderplank ry, kan diekinders in die vlakker branders baljaar én opdie waterwurm jol.

JACQUES MARAIS

Daar is darem ’n Portugese peri-peri-res-

uitmond.

Indien jy lus is vir ’n langer draf of stap, wagdaar goed 20 km se ongetemde kus by KaapSt. Francis verby tot by Oesterbaai.
