The dates for the Baptism of children and for the Pre-Baptismal instruction of parents should be arranged in the rectory ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE. In addition to English, and Spanish this Sacrament may also be in Italian.

•WEDDINGS/ MATRIMONIO Pre–marital instruction is a requirement for all engaged couples. Consequently, arrangements for weddings should be made SIX MONTHS in advance.

“Whoever receives you receives me and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me… And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to one of these little ones to drink because this little one is a disciple, amen, I say to you he will surely not lose his reward.” One of the gifts Pope Francis extols, is the gift of hospitality. In our families, in our church, we have the ability to open the door and make others feel welcome. A familiar Irish expression reads “A

Hundred Thousand Welcome.” Elisha the prophet in the Book of Kings, was offered hospitality by a wealthy woman, and she was rewarded for her gift. The person ready and willing to give ONLY a cup of cold water in the name of Jesus to a little one will not go without a reward.n the past it was not common to see people carrying a water bottle in public. Sometimes we looked for a fountain for a drink. Maybe the gift of water and hospitality for us can be welcoming a stranger, assisting someone in need, listening to a person who has suffered a loss or suffering a sickness. Whatever gesture I offer can be the Elisha gesture and the water offering which might seem small, but does not go unrewarded.

“El que los recibe a ustedes, me recibe a mí; y el que me recibe, recibe a aquel que me envió… Les aseguro que cualquiera que dé a beber, aunque sólo sea un vaso de agua fresca, a uno de estos pequeños por ser mi discípulo, no quedará sin recompensa.” Uno de los dones que el Papa Francisco alaba es el don de la hospitalidad. En nuestras familias, en nuestra iglesia, temenos la habilidad de abrir la puerta y hacer que otros se sientan bienvenidos. Una expresión irlandesa muy común es “Cien Mil veces Bienvenidos”. Una mujer rica ofreció su hospitalidad al profeta Elíseo en el Libro de Reyes, y fue recompensada. La persona lista y dispuesta a ofrecer SOLO un vaso de agua fría en nombre Jesús a uno de los pequeños no quedará sin recompensa. En el pasado no era común ver personas llevando botellas de agua en público. A veces buscábamos una fuente para beber. Quizá el don del agua y la hospitalidad sea para nosotros el dar la bienvenida a un extranjero, ayudar a algún necesitado, escuchar a una persona que ha sufrido una pérdida o está enferma. Cualquier gesto que yo pueda ofrecer puede ser el gesto de Elíseo y la ofrenda de agua puede parecer pequeña, pero no quedará sin recompensa.

Non si sa quale esigenza irrita di più ascoltando questo Vangelo: se l’abbandono totale dei legami familiari o il grado di amore chiesto dal Signore. Le parole di Gesù ci provocano fino allo scandalo. Il Signore non ci appare sotto un’altra luce agli occhi della nostra anima? Noi sappiamo che egli è comprensivo, sensibile e dolce. E soprattutto, speriamo che egli alleggerirà il fardello della nostra vita. Sorpresi, persino spaventati, indietreggiamo interiormente, e cerchiamo - sentendoci più minacciati

che conquistati da questo Vangelo - di difenderci con la fuga. Certo, il nostro cammino di fede ci ha fatto scoprire il Signore come il buon Pastore, che “ad acque tranquille ci conduce” (Sal 24,2). Come un Padre, la cui “grazia è nel cielo e la cui fedeltà fino alle nubi” (Sal 37,6). Soltanto una cecità spirituale ci impedirebbe di vedere il minimo segno dell’amore di Dio nella nostra vita: nella sicurezza familiare, nella salute del corpo e dell’anima, nella consolazione interiore di fronte ai colpi del destino e negli inattesi avvenimenti felici di ogni giorno. È per questo che cerchiamo la presenza del Signore e ci mettiamo al suo seguito. Ma egli ci fa resistenza quando vogliamo mescolare i nostri interessi personali con la nostra relazione di amicizia. Quando separiamo i doni ricevuti da Colui che ce li dona, per costruire un piccolo mondo egoista alle sue spalle. Noi siamo allora vittime di una illusione, poiché la salvezza e il pieno compimento si trovano soltanto in lui. Perciò egli si erge contro l’egoismo tinto di religiosità, e vuole difenderci dagli inganni e dagli errori. Le sue esigenze, così irritanti, mirano al nostro sommo bene: egli vorrebbe rimanere il fondamento del nostro essere e delle nostre aspirazioni. Colui la cui vita è interamente centrata in Cristo manifesta anche la presenza di Cristo in mezzo ai suoi fratelli. E ciò che vale per il Signore vale anche per l’inviato: accogliere il forestiero, dissetare colui che ha sete, il rispetto dell’apostolo verso il messaggero. Costui ha una famiglia tra i fratelli e le sorelle in Cristo (cf. Mt 12,50).

Appeal Goal of $58,000 that was assessed for our parish. The total that has been pledged at this time is shy of $40,000.

It is requested that if a family has not pledged or contributed, that they consider doing so. We are called to assist our brothers and sisters in need as

well as to assist in the education of our youth and in caring for our retired Religious Sisters and Brothers.

Our prayers and financial assistance to our Seminarians should also gain our attention. Let us

all consider a financial contribution in order that we may lessen the burdens of those who are in need.

NEWS AND EVENTS OF THE WEEK

PROPAGATION OF THE FAITH Brother Michael O'Donnell will be

visiting us here at St. Vito~ Most Holy Trinity next weekend July 7th & 8th.

He will speak to us about the Edmund Rice Christian Brother’s Mission in Lima

Peru. Brother O'Donnell works at the Brother School with many children. He will share more about his ministry when he visits us in two weeks time. The

second collection will go towards this mission. We ask for you continuous generosity!

Misa de 8am seguido por adoración durante todo el día hasta las 6:30pm. La Coronilla de la Divina Misericordia se rezara a las 3pm. Todos estas invitados a tomar tiempo

y traer sus peticiones y adorar la presencia Real de Cristo en la Eucaristía.

LA ADORACIÓN DEL 4 DE AGOSTO SE POSTPONE Y SE REANUDARÁ EL 1 DE SEPTIEMBRE. GRACIAS!
