1. KIA‘s Hamsters Success story

A couple of weeks ago, we showed you the KIA hamsters rocking out to the Party Rock Anthem and it turns our we weren’t the only ones loving it ; according to Contagious

magazine it was the 7th most shared ad of August and earned over 4million views. we’ve since found a more of

these hilarious ads, which have kept us laughing all week.

According to Dave Schoonover, the US National Manager of CRM and Digital Marketing, the success lies in recognising the distinct preferences of the GEN Y audience and making

sure they’re not seen to be trying too hard. In reality, it appears that they tried very hard indeed to look like

they’re not trying to hard, but it seems to have paid off!

Here’s our favourite; in this instalment from 2010 they’re strutting their stuff on ‘Hamster’dam Avenue.

2. Back to the Start

Chipotle Mexican Grill have launched a two-minute animated short film about the growing impact of

factory farming and the need for sustainable farming methods.

The soundtrack is a Willie nelson recording of coldplay’s ‘The scientist’. What’s interesting is the bringing together of willie nelson and the brand to sell this initiative. Even the artwork for the single relates back to the film, and all proceeds from its sale on itunes go to Benefit the Chipotle

Cultivate Foundation

3. Tmobile Parking TicketMultitrack

As part of its latest TV ad, T-Mobile hit the streets on 13 September to give unsuspecting motorists cash treats disguised

as parking fines.

The retailer, which is known for featuring unsuspecting members of the public in its TV adverts, targeted drivers across the UK for

its most recent countrywide stunt.

The Parking Ticket advert was developed to support of the launch of T-Mobile’s new plan You Fix, which T-Mobile says is ideal for customers who want to control their mobile phone

expenditure.

4. The Mp3 Experiment (8!)

I’m sorry we missed the first 7, but we’re bring you the 8th instalment of the ‘MP3 experiment’, from

NewYork’s Improv everywhere group, who charge themselves with causing scenes of chaos and joy in

public places.

In this experiment, a over 3,500 people downloaded an MP3 file and pressed play simultaneously. The event began at sunset in two starting points by the Hudson River. The masses converged on Nelson Rockefeller Park as twilight ended and participated in a series

of synchronized activities involving flashlights, camera flashes, glow sticks, and masks

5. The Angry Bird Effect

Every March, Challenger, Gray, and Christmas, ( a consulting firm) make estimates about how much money

American companies lose because people watch the NCAA basketball (College Basketball) tournament instead

of working.

After hearing that, 200 million minutes of Angry Birds are played every day, a journalist called Alexis Madrigal at the Atlantic decided to apply their methodology to the

phenomenon, and came up with the following…
