Q.3 What have you learnt from your audience

feedback?

Page 2: Evaluation Q.3

During making my Trailer, I decided, due to the popularity on the other existing soap operas, I would make it for 16-30 year olds:

Once I had done my first draft of the trailer, we sat down and watched all the trailers and took down audience feedback. This was good and helpful because the class were the same age as the target and they all liked soaps

Some of the feedback included really positive things such as:

• “the storylines work really well together”

• “I like the transitions between each scene”

• “the music fits really well to the piece”

• “it looks really realistic, I would actually watch it”

I also got negative feedback but things I could work on such as:

• “the music needs to match the pace and beat of the actual scenes behind it”

• “Some of the transitions are out of time”

• “It needs to be made a little bit longer”

After we had the audience feed back I went back to my trailer and changed and learnt a few new things, such as:

I'm really pleased we made an audience watch it and get feedback, as I could make the changes that needed to be done to make an all round better soap. It also made me realise what mistakes I had done, and really helped me develop my skills in things, such as fixing the music (more in Q.4 on music). All in all I think it helped me develop the best soap opera I could.
