Evaluation Question 7:

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

  

• The main thing I have noticed change since I did my college magazine (preliminary task) is my confidence in the use of different media formats.

• For example, I have become a lot more familiar with conventions of magazines and the way they are constructed, therefore I can create a much more realistic replica. 

• I also find myself enjoying the process of creating a media product, while before I only wanted it to be done and over with. I think this had a visible impact on the quality of the final product.

• I have also learnt how to manage my time better since I had to do the college magazine.

• I now know how long it takes to create a contents page, double page spread and contents page, which decreases the chances of rushing, which I think is another factor that contributes to a poor result.

• I am very proud and happy with how I progressed from the college magazine to my final product. I think the quality of my music magazine’s front cover especially is very good.

• This is supported by the feedback given to me by friends, family and strangers, some of them even thinking my media product was an actual music magazine, which is the greatest feedback I could get, as it conveys I have understood the process of constructing a magazine and what it consists of, as well as followed the right codes conventions, but also keeping it different enough to stand out.
