I would like to welcome all students, parents and staff to the 2019 school year.

We have several new staff including; Ms Andrew—Music, Ms Hitchins—PD/H/PE, Mrs Neale—HSIE, Ms Devereux—Special Education, Ms Whitford—Science, Mrs Aird– Administration and Ms Obrien—teachers aide.

I would also like to welcome 3 Exchange students to our great little school. Azumi Kota (from Japan) and Lucine Proudhon (from France) have joined Year 11 whilst Bastien Clausse (from France) is in Year 10. We hope these students enjoy their time at our school and teach our students as much as they learn from the experience. I would also like to welcome back Montana Tatchell who completed a student exchange to Canada at the end of last year.

We had a fantastic Swimming carnival yesterday with leadership and sportsmanship displayed by many of our students throughout the day. Thankyou to Ms Sutton and her band of helpers for organising a great carnival.

Our senior students are settling into their studies. This year, on top of the courses offered at Cobar High, students are studying 6 different courses through TAFE (including Electro technology and Primary Industry) 7 courses through Distance Education (including Dance and French) and 3 courses through Aurora College. Our students can achieve anything from Cobar and the school will always help them follow their dreams.

Holly Marsden and Stevie Toomey have started Early Childhood school based traineeships. The girls will get practical work experience 1 day a week at Cobar Preschool whilst completing their HSC courses at Cobar High. Well done girls.

Preston Campbell NRL star and Indigenous leader will be in the school on the 6th of March. He will speak to all students throughout the day. Thanks to Hutchinson Builders for organising the visit.
