Principal’s Report
On Tuesday, two of our students, Piper Neale and Maddie Chaplain represented Cobar Public at the CWA Public Speaking competition held in Bourke. There were 30 students in total from the Year 5/6 division and Maddie came 1st. Mad-die has been invited to attend the Regional Public Speaking competition on Tues-day, 25th June in Narromine. Congratulations Maddie, we wish you all the best. Well done to Joe, Tyler, Piper and Maddie for dedicating your Thursday lunch times over the two terms to be part of our public speaking team. Congratulations to our PSSA Rugby League team on their 18-0 win against Nyn-gan. All the boys put in a mighty effort in their second game despite being defeat-ed by Gilgandra. Thank you to Mrs Jermyn for driving the school bus and Mr Holt for your excellent coaching. Well done boys on your exceptional sportsman-ship. Mr Harvey is in Sydney for two days this week for External Validation of another school. External Validation provides an opportunity for schools to discuss their judgements about their practice and provide supporting evidence. Mrs Lee and Mrs Knight are in Dubbo this week for an Early Action for Success Network Day. These days provide our staff with valuable information, strategies, programs and resources to support our students in Numeracy and Literacy. The temperature has dropped considerably this week. Please make sure that your child is wearing their winter school uniform to school. Most importantly, check to see that their name is clearly marked on their jumpers, jackets and hats. Our ‘lost property’ bins are filling up with unclaimed clothing. Our teachers have been busily working on student reports for this semester. Re-ports will be sent home in week 10. Enjoy the Mid-Term Break and stay safe. See you all on Tuesday. Jenny Manns Relieving Principal

PSSA Rugby League at Dubbo
Yesterday morning 15 students braved the cold and early morning to board the bus to Dubbo to play in the PSSA Classic Shield. The first round was against Nyngan PS. Cobar made a great start scoring an early try to Nick Hodges from a Nyngan error. Nyngan couldn’t break Cobar’s strong defence with some strong tackling, excellent line speed and team work. Cobar’s defensive pressure paid off with a try just before half time to Lochlan Abel making the score 8-0. The 2nd half again saw some strong defence close to our line until Dan Buckman made a break nearly running the whole field. Cobar capitalised on the break to score through Lochlan Abel making it 14-0. Another try from Nick Hodges made it 18-0 which ended up being the final score. Try scorers: Nick Hodges 2 Lochlan Abel 2 Conversion: Zaiden Saunders The 2nd round put us against a well organised Gilgandra side. Gilgandra capitalised early on a Cobar error to make the score 4-0. Cobar weren’t able to contain some strong running from the Gilgandra side although Cobar were able to score a late consolation try to Nick Hodges. The score finished off 32-4. Try Scorers: Nick Hodges
Throughout the day the boys showed excellent sportsmanship which was on display when they cheered on Gilgandra in their next
game.
I would like to thank Mrs Jermyn for driving the bus and the Cryer family for their support with coaching and league safe at Dubbo
and on the Peachey Richardson Shield. I would also like to thank all the parents and grandparents who have supported their stu-
dents with Rugby League this year. It has been another successful year of Rugby League.
PSSA Rugby League Team: Mitch Allen, Joe Webster, Daniel Buckman, Cadence Nixon-Redman, Lachlan Willard, Lochlan Abel,
Koby Robertson, Nick Hodges, Zaiden Saunders, Rohan Bartlett, Sam Dunne, Tim McCormack, Parker Cryer, Harley Lambert,
