What gender are you?
Male Female
•When handing out our questionnaires my group and I had all agreed that we would give our the questionnaires to more
females than males. This was because we believed that our music video would appeal to females more so than males. This was because the storyline and plot of the music video was that which was going to appeal to girls more than boys and the fact that the main protagonists are three girls would
also make the music video more relatable to females and would therefore be more successful. By giving these
questionnaires to more girls this then allowed us to be able to get the overall ideas and input from our target audience
whom are mostly girls.

How old are you?

• Within our questionnaire we also asked them the question of how old they were. This then allowed us to specify which age
groups were more interested in certain ideas and then see if we could cater to our target audiences age of teens and young
adults. We ensured that we gave our questionnaires to mostly those within our target audience age range which then allowed
us to look at the questionnaires and gain more ideas for our music video from the people who we are targeting.

What genres of music do you like?
• In our questionnaire we also asked them which genres of music they like and Pop music was the most liked. This then ensured
that our music video which is to the Pop song ‘I Love It’ by Icona Pop would be successful as most of those within our target
audience seem to like that genre of music. However the genre of dance was lower than that of Pop and this then allowed us to
make the decision that we would not include that much conventions of the dance genre in our music video as it might not
be as effective.

what type of music videos do you like
• We also asked them which type of music videos they liked and then listed many different artist from PSY to Michael Jackson. We did these specific artists because we had all watched their music videos beforehand and they were all different from one another and contained different aspects which we could then interpret in
our own way and implement into our own music video.

What effects do you like in music videos
What effects do you like in mus...
•We also asked the question of which effects would they like to see within a music video. We found that the effects of slow motion, split screens and text was the most popular effects they would like to see. This would also make our music video more fun and entertaining for our target audience and would uphold the atmosphere of young people having a good time. We will ensure that we try to include these special effects in our music video.

Do you like a storyline/plot within music videos?
Yes No
• The questionnaires also provided us with the results of over 92% of people who filled out our questionnaire said that they would like
to see a story or plot aspect within our music video. This we will then ensure by inserting our original plotline of a boy breaking up with a girl and then the girl having a good time with her friends
over the summer to get over him. This we believe will also emphasise the lyrics of the song as the girl is getting over him ‘I
Don’t Care!’. However we also want to make sure that our storyline does not take over the whole entire music video as this
wont be conventional to most dance pop music videos.

What locations do you think would be effective in our music video?
What locations do you think would be effective in our music video?
•This question asked also allowed us to look at all of the locations we could use within our music video which will make it more
interesting for our target audience. Both a house party location and central London were the places in which people thought
would be the most affective within our music video. We will then ensure that these locations are inserted into our music video
whilst also providing other locations so that the music video does not get repetitive and boring for our audience.

What props do you think we should include?
What props do you think we should include?
• Through this questionnaire we wanted to test all of our ideas for our music video and see which ideas were considered the best for our music video. Both the bubbles and the neon face paint ideas
were received well by and will also highlight our video as that of a fun and young atmosphere.

Do you like the ending idea that the boy is asking fo the protagonist
back but she refuses him? Do you like the comical aspect?
Yes No
•Our storyline within our music video is also a very important part which will both emphasise the lyrics of the song and keep our
music video entertaining. The results shown allowed us to identify if the plot was good enough or would be received well and it was.
Furthermore we believe that our storyline will enhance the girl power message of our music video and appeal to our target
audience of young females. However as there is a small percentage of those who do not like this idea we will ensure that
the whole music video is not centred around this idea as there will be a limited amount of scenes allocated to the plot.

Do you like the idea of the inclusion of a montage with quick edits and
scenesYes No
•The questionnaire proved that the montage aspect of our music video was successful with our target audience and we will keep this idea as a key factor within our music video. This is also an aspect which is conventional of our dance pop genre of song and will also uphold the young, partying and fast pace atmosphere of the song and music video.
•The montage will also keep our target audience entertained as it will exhibit many different scenes, locations and props which will make the music video unique and keep the audience up to date with the protagonists. However we will also ensure that our montage does not go too quickly as someone within our focus group also commented that they didn’t like too much quick edits which will not allow them to see all scenes to the best of their ability.
IN CONCLUSION
The questionnaires have been very helpful to us as we have been able to get the views of our target
audience on our ideas. This has also allowed us to be able to either keep or throw away ideas which we found to be either successful or unsuccessful
with our target audience. We believe that through these questionnaires we have been able to refine
our music video more towards our target audience and will now be more effective as we are confident
with the ideas that are being put forward. The questionnaires have also given us chance to
improve our music video with ideas which we may not of even thought of and different effects and techniques which will also make our music video
more professional.
