PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE Welcome back! What a great start to the year. Our students are settled in classes, we’ve had another successful swimming carnival, so far we’ve beaten the heat (and thunder storms) at school and the playground is humming along beautifully.

A big thank you to families who have continued to assist us with our school pride by ensuring students are in full uniform. The kids looks outstanding and all visitors to our school comment on the high level of uniform including footwear.

Our Kindergarten students are quickly learning the ropes of school and are getting used to what seems like very long days. Within the next fortnight they will have completed their BEST START Assessments and families will receive feedback in due course.

As you can see above, we have a “Welcome back” BBQ where all our families are invited to enjoy a sausage sizzle and a quick catch up where students will have the chance to introduce their families to their class teachers. A return slip for catering is attached to this newsletter.

All teachers will be sending home an information sheet to families on the 8th February detailing information around home learning, home reading, sport and library days. Please be on the look out for this as it may be on the bottom of your child’s bag.

Our biggest change to newsletters this year is that they will be digital. You would already know this as you are either reading this via our school website ( Click or tap here), our app, or on an email. If you hear of other families wondering where the newsletter is, please remind them that they need to access it in either of the three ways detailed above. Permission notes will still come home on a physical piece of paper. They will also be uploaded onto the school website and the app so you can always have the details on hand if notes get lost. You can also follow us on Facebook ( Click or tap here) for periodic updates as appropriate.

Have a great week, Mandy Crocker WHOLE SCHOOL STAFFING This year again we have 11 classes. We welcome some new teachers to North Wagga including Ms Emma Mulrooney, Mr Aiden Ridley and Mrs Benita Smith. Both Ms Mulrooney and Mrs Smith have worked with us before, Mr Ridley comes to us from Uranquinty Public School. We’re sure they’ll enjoy their time at NWPS.

We have some teachers who are only working part-time, and therefore some classes are covered with a job-share arrangement. The details of those, as well as the class names, are listed below:

There will be some teachers on leave throughout the year, but we will aim to minimise disruption to classes as much as possible. Inevitably, maternity leaves, long service leaves and sick leaves are all part of the landscape in all work places, so I greatly appreciate families’ understanding when these things impact on classes.
