This week we celebrate the 33rd Sunday in Ordinary time.

Dear Parent,

Our next school led Mass at St. Mary’s Church will take place on the Feast of Christ the King, Sunday 24th November, beginning at 11am.

As ever, please do come along and support these Masses which are such an integral part of the Catholic life of our school. Your ongoing

commitment to them is much appreciated.

This morning a large group of family members joined us and the children in Year 1 as they brought to a close our RE theme on Beginnings.

They put across to us the importance of the Sacrament of Baptism superbly. Thank you to the children and the staff involved for their hard

work.

This afternoon our rugby and netball teams travelled to Maesteg to play against St. Mary’s & St. Patrick’s school. We trust that they

enjoyed the experience and had a wonderful afternoon of sport.

On Saturday 23rd November the Entrepreneurship Group who have been meeting on Monday evenings with the support of several staff

members will be running some stalls in the Bridgend Market. They will be selling a range of items that they have made in school, both in

the club and in various classes throughout. Please do pop along to support them at some point during the day if possible. My thanks to

the staff who have given up their time to support the children in order to have this excellent experience.

All of the people who are able to purchase some of our end of season honey should now have been informed. All the names were chosen

at random electronically. We trust that you will very much enjoy the beautiful taste of our honey.

The pattern of our Nativities for this year is once again shown below. Tickets are available from Monday onwards priced at £2.50 each.

Please clearly mark on an envelope which performances you want the tickets for and we will get them to you.

News from the Friends of St. Mary’s Tickets still available for our trip to the Christmas Market at

Bath on Saturday 30th November, leaving McArthur Glen at

8am and leaving Bath around 5pm. This should be a

wonderful day out, do please come and join us if at all

possible. Tickets are priced at £15. Simply send your money

into school and we will get the tickets to you.

The Friends are organising an End of term Christmas Disco for

our children on Thursday 19th December. It will run from

6-7.30pm and tickets for it will go on sale in a short while.

The recent Coffee Morning held by the Friends of the school

proved to be very popular and we have had requests to run

additional ones. Therefore the Friends will organise a Coffee

Morning for Thursday 5th December at 9am. Please do come

along and join us. Take advantage of the opportunity to relax

and have a chat for a little while. Your support of this would

be very much appreciated.

Many thanks to all the parents who ensure that their children

who have packed lunches have a balanced meal. This is

something that we teach our children about in school and

therefore we would be very grateful if you could support this by

ensuring that packed lunches are balanced and do not include

too much in the way of sweet and sugary foods. Thank you for

helping our teaching in this area.

A team of our Year 6 pupils are currently preparing for a Spelling

Bee competition to be held at St. Clare’s school on the 28th

November. We wish them all the best and an enjoyable

experience there.

Health & Safety notice: Would all parents please ensure they

do not enter the school grounds on foot through the large gates

at the front of the car park. This presents a significant risk as

these gates are only designed for vehicles entering the car park

area. Instead please ensure you use the small pedestrian gates.

Thanks for your help with this.
