Camp TITAN Summer 2018 (June 11 – August 17)

Marvelous Monday

Mondays will include weekly announcements, chapel, group activities, sports, water play, and afternoon fun.

Totally Awesome Tuesdays

On Tuesdays, campers who are age eligible will participate in on-site and off-site field trips. See additional detailed Field Trip Schedule (Available in April) for information. Detailed Information can also be found on our camp weekly newsletter.

Wonderful Wednesdays Wednesdays will include chapel, water games, special classes, recreational activities, afternoon free choice activities, and on campus special events.

Traveling Thursdays Most field trips will be on Thursdays. See additional detailed Field Trip Schedule (Available in April) for information.

Fresh amd Fun Filled Fridays

Fridays include chapel, Pizza Fridays (See Calendar), group challenges, week wrap-up, waterplay, and afternoon free choice activities. Special Spotlight teacher activity!

Free Choice Activities

Free choice activities will include: sports and recreation, friendship bracelets, drawing, stamping, play dough, stencils, art board games, blocks and building, lanyards, cards, hair and nails, and gardening care.

Scheduled Classes

Each Monday, Thursday, and Friday we will have fun class time designed for all ages. All of our courses are designed to educate, inform, and enhance. Hands-on learning is always a hit with the kids. Scheduled classes will include: arts and crafts, science experiments, gardening, outside games, cooking, sports, dance and exercise, math, language arts, and more! Please see the weekly newsletter for more detailed fun.

Worship Chapel

All campers will attend chapel on Mondays and Fridays. All campers are expected to attend and participate in the music and lesson of each chapel. There will be fun and relevant Bible lessons for all school age campers!

General/Miscellaneous

No gaming systems or MP3 players. This is to ensure that these devices are not harmed, lost, or stolen while the children are at camp. Cell phones are allowed to be in the possession of a student for emergency purposes. Cell phones are only to be used to reach a parent/guardian, and permission must be granted by a Camp TITAN employee. Campers bring phones at their own risk and the camp does not take responsibility for loss or damage. If a phone is used during camp and is seen by a Camp TITAN employee, then the phone will be taken and returned to the parent/guardian at the end of the day. Toys from home are the responsibility of the camper. Camp TITAN is not responsible for any lost or broken toys. If necessary we may need to remove the toys and return to the parent at the end of the day.




Check in/out: Check in begins at 7:00 AM. The gate will not be open until 7:00 AM. Before the school office opens, children are to be signed in and dropped off at the Church Fellowship Hall. For our children’s safety, children may not be dropped off at the curb. There will be a binder by the lunch tables outside the Fellowship Hall in which the child’s parent or guardian must sign them in and out each day. If requested, parents and guardians must present ID to the employee working at the time of checkout. If someone other than the child’s parent or guardian drops off/picks up the child, that person must be listed

on the child’s check in sheet, or the parents must call ahead to notify the Camp TITAN employees.

There is a weekly registration sheet that must be returned to the school office by 3:00 PM the Friday before the student attends. After student is registered for the week, there will be no refunds or credits for missed days or changes to schedules.

Camp TITAN hours end at 6:00 PM. Children must be picked up by 6:00 PM. If a parent/guardian is not there to pick up a child an additional fee is owed to the camp counselor on duty. For each minute the child is kept after 6:00 PM, the parent/guardian must pay $1.00 cash per child per minute to the camp counselor. Please be prepared to pay this fee upon pick-up of your child(ren) as this will not be invoiced at a later date.

Tuition Checks should be made out to Trinity Lutheran Christian School (TLCS). Please include all Field Trip fees in the tuition check. Failure to do so may keep the student from participating in the weekly field trips. Tuition is due weekly and is to be paid on the Friday before for the upcoming week. For Example, tuition is due Friday, June 8th for the week of 6/116/15. Please note, there will be no refunds or credits for missed days, once campers are registered and fees are paid.

Field Trips The Field trip schedule will be available in April and will also be listed on the Summer Calendar. Most of the field trips are scheduled for Thursdays. Although these field trips have been booked,

extenuating circumstances are always possible, and field trips may be cancelled or rescheduled.

Therefore, all field trips and special events are subject to change. An updated weekly calendar will be displayed near the Check-In/Check-Out binder. Once tickets have been purchased, campers with cancelations are still responsible for field trip fees. Please note, all field trips require pre-registration (of

no later than) the Friday before the scheduled field trip, no exceptions.

Due to the young age of our TK and Kindergarten campers, not all students will be permitted to attend “off-campus” field trips. We will have a separate “on campus” program for out TK and Kindergaten campers who are not attending field trips. All TK aged campers will remain on campus during the off-site field trip days. Kindergarten campers that were in a TK classroom the prior school year may attend; however, it is not mandatory. Please ask the Summer Camp Director for clarification or if you have additional questions. (1st

grade campers cannot stay on campus

during “off campus” field trips).

All participating campers must wear the Camp TITAN t-shirt on camp field trips. A limited supply of extra shirts will be available for $10.00 each. All campers should wear tennis shoes or other comfortable shoes for field trips.




Most field trips are scheduled early in the day; please check the Field Trip Schedule (Available in April) for detailed information. Some field trips include lunch. The weekly calendars and Field Trip Schedule will indicate if lunch is provided or if a sack lunch/money needs to be sent. When a lunch is sent from home it must be sent in a labeled brown lunch sack. Please only send containers that can be thrown away. Lunch bags/utensils will not make it back to camp. Dress Code

Shoes-Campers are not permitted to wear flip-flops or any sandal without a back strap. Campers are physically active throughout the day and should have comfortable shoes.

Bathing Suits-Campers will participate in water play on many non-field trip days. Swimsuits/sunscreen/towels should be sent in a marked zip-lock bag or labeled backpack. Bathing suits should be a one piece and modest. If a girl wears a two-piece, a tank top is to be worn over their suit. If a suit is worn that an employee finds unacceptable, the student will be asked to wear a t-shirt over it.

Shirts-All shirts should have straps or sleeves. Straps should be a minimum of 3 fingers in width at the shoulder. No low cut tops or midriffs.

Field Trip Days- All participating campers must wear the Camp TITAN t-shirt in order to

attend the field trip. Children who do not have the Camp TITAN shirt will stay behind with the non-participating children. A limited supply of extra shirts will be available for $10.00. All campers should wear tennis shoes or other comfortable shoes for field trips.

Girls Only:

Skirts, skorts, and jumpers must extend past fingertips when arms are held at side. The length and fit of skirt, skort, and jumper must provide modest coverage when going up stairs, moving to and from upper level classes/library/lab, climbing up and down on the play fort, and playing at recess. Girls are encouraged to wear acceptable style shorts under their skirts or jumpers for the purpose of modesty.

Boys Only:

Boys’ hair must be shorter than shoulder length. Earrings and piercings are not allowed. Make-up is not allowed. Dresses, skirts, skorts, jumpers, and/or equivalents are not allowed. Painted finger nails are not allowed. No hair bows, headbands, barrettes, and/or adornments.

For the purposes of school and church programming, administration of policies, and/or staffing (examples: dress codes, uniform policy, athletics, school sponsored events, assemblies, bathroom usage, supervision), Trinity Lutheran Christian School, a ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church, exclusively defines biological males as boys and biological females as girls. When “boy(s)” or “girl(s)” is used, in any form of TLCS and/or Trinity Lutheran Church communications, it represents the definition above and only that definition. The school’s dress and appearance guidelines provide an opportunity to learn an important Christian concept: living in Christ’s freedom by considering the rights and feelings of others. Scripture tells us to show love and consideration for others in “all things” (Romans 14). In applying this precept to dress and appearance, it is concluded that one must never wear clothing that offends others or makes them uncomfortable. It is expected that all students will follow the dress and appearance code from the time of arrival to the time of departure for school and/or school sponsored events/functions (on or off campus). This means students must be in dress and appearance code the entire time they are on campus and/or participating in a school sponsored event/function (ie field trip, performance).




Please encourage team-work, fairness, and a Christ-like attitude at home. Campers will participate in many athletic challenges and team competitions. Campers are to appreciate each others differences and accept both winning and losing outcomes.

The Camp TITAN employees are planning an active, positive summer experience. Campers who

continually disrupt this Camp TITAN environment may be in jeopardy of losing the privilege of attending camp and participation may be terminated.

Trinity Lutheran Summer Day Camp Financial Policy and Agreement

Trinity Lutheran Christian School/Day Camp does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, national or ethnic origin. Our student body is composed of students who give evidence of their desire to display good character, effort in academics, and agreement with the Christian objectives of the school/camp. It is the desire of the School Board, Administration and Staff of Trinity Lutheran Christian School to provide a spiritually, emotionally and educationally motivating and secure camp environment.
