PARISH NEWS From our Pastor…

The prophets and Jesus were truth

-tellers. They spoke for God in faith and morals, warning that if people

did not heed God's word, tragedy

would befall them.

God has spoken clearly throughout human history, and he continues to speak today. God

constantly says, "I love you, and I want what is

best for you." But if we do not heed his voice, we suffer the consequences--discord in

relationships, society and our world.

Spend some time in prayer, honestly listening

to God's voice. Where is God inviting you to change your life to be the best version of

yourself (as Matthew Kelly says). Maybe take

one area and work on it. Make a plan, and work

the plan. If you fail, keep trying. Don't give the evil one the satisfaction. Do all for the greater

glory of God.

Blessings,

ST. BONAVENTURE COLUMBUS, NE

MARY: HANDMAID OF THE OF LORD BY ST. TERESA OF KOLKATA St. Teresa of Kolkata is known throughout the world as a woman who was totally com-mitted to the Gospel. In this inspiring talk, she shares her insights on the Blessed Vir-gin Mary as a model of womanhood and perfect discipleship. She shows us that we,

too, can do the will of God by saying “yes” to the Lord in the big and little things in our lives; nothing is too insignificant.

WHAT IS THE NARTHEX? We finally have a Narthex that is spacious and usable, but what is a “Narthex”? A Narthex is the entry space for worship and is considered to be the space where all the “worshippers” gather together before and after Mass. (Unfortunately, we aren’t able to do that yet, with this pandemic, but hopefully soon!). The Narthex should be consid-ered a place of welcome, and a gathering space that helps our parishioners’ transition from everyday life to the celebration of the liturgy. After the liturgy, it helps them to return to daily life to “live out the mystery that has been celebrated.” + Source: Built of Living Stones, USCCB 2000)
