ETERNAL REST GRANT UNTO THEM, O LORD. AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM. MAY THE SOULS OF ALL THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED, THROUGH THE MERCY OF GOD, REST IN PEACE.
As we celebrated All Souls’ Day this week, please continue to pray for all those who have gone before us. We would like to remember those we have commended to God in the past year that are connected to our parish.

maybe even a better person?

Father Valker Coat and Sweater Drive November 11 and 12
In an effort to provide coats and sweaters for the home-less and needy BEFORE the severe cold Chicago weather sets in, the Catholic Community of Northbrook will hold the first of two Fr. Valker Coat and Sweater Drives on November 11th and 12th. The second drive will take place as is traditional on Epiphany Sunday ( January 6 and 7, 2018.). On the weekend of November 11th and 12th, we ask that you bring your old (but clean) and new coats and sweaters you don’t need to the lobby of church as you come to Mass. They will be taken to needy adults and children to help them get through Chicago’s winter. Last year your sweaters and coats were distributed to the needy at Catholic Charities, St. Margaret of Scotland, St. Martin de Porres, St Anthony's Hospital and Marillac House.
Cub Scouts Wednesday evening November 15, at 7 p.m. the St. Norbert Cub Scout Pack 266 will hold it's open recruiting evening during the Pack meeting. Please join us to see what scouting is all about. Boys currently in Kindergarten through 5th grade are wel-come to attend and to join in the scouting fun. The Women’s Centers of Greater Chicagoland is a nonprofit organization trying to help women contem-plating abortion with services and support that affirm the dignity of life of both mother and child. We make sure that each woman leaves the centers with her dignity restored and that she encounters someone who sincerely cares and believes in her. We contin-ue to provide free services and information needed to foster a positive home environment for her and for her family. All of our services are free and cover her current pregnancy, including: ▪ Initial Pregnancy Test ▪ Ultrasound Services ▪ Crisis Intervention Counseling ▪ Material Goods Assistance ▪ Financial and Social Service Referrals ▪ Adoption Referrals Beyond these services, we also offer: ▪ Sexual Integrity Education ▪ Family Dynamics Counseling ▪ Life Skills Education ▪ Post-Abortion Counseling to Heal A Previous
Loss. The Baby Bottle Project enables the whole family to participate in helping The Women's Centers of Greater Chicagoland's pro-life mission. Empty baby bottles are dispersed at local parishes and schools for families and students to bring home and collect their spare change that helps to fund the work that we do. At the same time, participants pray for women and children who are vulnerable to abortion. This project is a wonderful way for the community to show its support for life and for children to learn the beauty of giving to help others. We could not do this work without your support! Please take a bottle and return it as full as possi-ble on November 4/5, 2017!
