Presidents Message—Steve Soltwedel
What a great snowmobile season. We had snow on the ground
from Thanksgiving right up to trail closing. Once again, we heard
good things about our trail condi ons throughout the season.
Hats off to our trail boss, Jim Wendt and his staff of drivers for a
job well done.
As I am sure you all know, the roof on the older sec on of our
groomer barn collapsed in February. Cleanup is completed and we
are at the task of ge ng contracts and approvals in place to begin
reconstruc on. I want to recognize and thank Jim Wendt for all his
efforts in the overseeing of our reconstruc on project this past
summer. It should be easier the second me around.
Our March annual mee ng was well a ended, and elec ons were
held. I appreciate your support by my reelec on as President. On
behalf of myself and the membership I want to thank Jim Swenson
for his years of service as a board member. I also want to congrat-
ulate Jeff Horvath and Greg Platz on their elec on to the Board of
Directors. We accomplished quite a lot this past year and I want to
say thanks to the en re Board for their dedica on and support.
Pam Gebhardt published our world class newsle er so a special
Thanks Pam. Thanks to Tom Christensen who found me in his
busy schedule to get the newsle ers mailed and enter our trail
funding expenses. Keeping us number one in the state doesn’t
happen without countless hours from volunteers and the financial
support from you the members, local businesses, Chamber of
Commerce and the Town of St Germain. Thank you all for your
support.
The Women on Snow group recently presented the club with a
check for $350 a er their event this winter. Thank you for your
support!
We have fund raising events scheduled to take place over the sum-
mer months, the Snowmobile Hall of Fame Sled Roundup, Sunday
Fun Days, Brat Fry and the Drive with the Groomer Drivers Golf
Scramble. These events will all be reviewed in accordance with
the recently imposed COVID-19 guidelines as we approach these
events. Please consider suppor ng these events by volunteering
and par cipa ng if they are held.
Un l next season,
Steve

What a way to end the season with the old half of the groomer
barn on the ground! We had extensive damage to our 2017
Tucker and our club truck was totaled. We lost some of our tool
board and lots of supplies used at our food service events. Our
losses in this event were less than last years loss. We are work-
ing with the insurance companies and the Town to recover eve-
rything lost as soon as possible. We WILL recover from this just
as we did last summer, I can assure you of that!
As the year comes to an end, I want to express my thanks to the
many people who make my job a real joy. First and foremost I
want to thank President, Steve Soltwedel and the board of di-
rectors for the support necessary to run such a comprehensive
program like ours. Equally responsible for providing the best
trails in the north are my staff of groomers who spend their me
working every night in all kinds of weather to ensure our trails
meet the highest standards in our industry. I am soooo proud of
these men and their commitment to our club!
All my apprecia on to the sign master and his assistant Steve
Soltwedel and Ozzie Ausloos. They have kept our system safe
for everyone riding and offer any assistance I may need on pro-
jects around the groomer barn. Couldn’t survive without these
two great friends and co-workers.
Many people outside of our club provide services and supplies
to make everything run smoothly. Tucker Sno—Cat personnel,
Darryl Davis and his staff of Ken, Jerry, Aaron and Jeremy pro-
vide the best service I could ask for to keep our Tuckers on the
trail. Equally important in keeping our equipment running is
Lulich Tractor and Equipment. Dan Lulich and his right hand
man John have been invaluable to me at all hours of the day
and night with informa on and parts necessary for keeping our
tractor in service. Dealers like Tucker Sno—Cat and Lulich
Equipment are the best in the area and I can only say how much
I appreciate your efforts and value your service and friendship
more than you know. I would also like to extend my sincere
thanks to a number of folks that have proved to be invaluable to
our opera on. These folks are not only supporters of our opera-
on but also trusted friends who I can count on at any
me. Dave Walker from Walker Equipment & Arrowhead
Groomers has provided equipment, welding, supplies and
equipment storage as needed. I know I can count on Dave to
help with anything I need to keep our program running. Paul
Bohnen at Paul’s Rental—All has provided necessary equipment
whenever we need it. He never gives the club a bill for his work
which has accounted for countless hours of service. Jim Kelsey
at Woodland Auto Clinic has also given the club service at no or
reduced cost. He has also done light body work for the club at
reduced rates. Larry Hicks at Hicks Oil has provided fuel and oils
promptly to never have us run out of product. The crew at Ad-
vanced Auto in Woodruff has been a reliable source for needed
supplies whenever I need something in a mely manner. The
Town crew of Tim, Tom, and Rick have always been there with help
moving snow, material li ing, gate opening, and anything we need to
help our opera on run smoothly. Doug and Joe Coda from Coda Elec-
tric Services have been a great resource for unforeseen electrical
problems at the barn. Doug has generously donated reduced labor
and materials for any club project or repair needed. Kent Kni at
Kni ’s Hardware in St. Germain has been one of the most valued sup-
porters of the club! Kent has donated 4 new S hl chainsaws and
chain sharpening over the past 10+ years. He has discounted count-
less other equipment and supplies as we need them. He has also
been a resource for informa on on repairs when I have run into a
perceived roadblock. Not only a supplier, I consider Kent, Terri, and
Shirley close friends as well! I would like to send out my sincere
thanks to Pam Gebhardt for the outstanding work she does in making
our club newsle er the most professional product in the en re
state! (also for keeping me on schedule for submi als). Love you,
Pam!
You cannot have the recognized best program in the state without
people like the ones I have recognized above. I sincerely apologize if
someone has been le off because of my bad memory...to them I say
“thank you”. God willing, we will all be back next year to con nue to
build on the reputa on of the St. Germain Bo—Boen Snowmobile
Club that we love so much!!!!
HAPPY TRAILS!
Jim
BoBoen Trail Landowners
Thank you to all of our Generous landowners for
another successful season! Our trails would not be possible without your continued support
and generosity.
WE GREATLY APPRECIATE YOU!!!!
MEMBERSHIP CORNER With the season winding down our total membership count stands at 1,171 memberships. Thank you for your terrific support. Remember that everyone’s AWSC membership will expire on June 30th each year now. So those of you that had ordered the discounted trail passes in the summer, you will be unable to do so until after June 30th and your club membership is renewed. Our plan is to still send out renewal notices as summer winds down late August or early September. This will still give you plenty of time to order passes for your sleds in time for the trails opening usually mid December. Please note, if you decide to send in your renewal in July or August prior to our bulk club renewal notice, they will not be processed immediately but only periodically when the numbers make in warranted to do so. Hope all had a chance to enjoy our trails this winter, have a great summer and we will be in touch by early September when we start our renewal memberships.

Secretary’s Report—Kay Schultz Another season has come and gone. Except for the ice condi ons on the area lakes, the trails were in great shape. I hope that you were able to get out on the trails to enjoy them. Once again, this is the me of year for some thank yous.
I would like to thank the Board of Directors for all their hard work and dedica on for making our club the biggest and the best in the state.
All of our map adver sers for their support. Please try to support these businesses.
The restaurants that graciously hosted one of our membership dinners – Pub ‘n Prime, Spang’s, Knocker’s Pizza Co. Inc., White-tail, Sportsmen’s Chalet, Clearview and Golden Pines.
The St. Germain Fire Department for running the basic rules of snowmobiling on their electronic message sign during the en re season – i.e. stop at all stop signs.
Pam Gebhardt, who puts together our great newsle er every month.
All of our members. The club would not be what it is without you. You make our trails the best!
Have a safe and happy summer. Hope to see you at one of the sum-mer events.

Let’s Eat Out My high school biology teacher (and yes, I can remember that far back) used to end each class by asking “Ques ons, comments or snide remarks?” Now it’s my turn to ask the same thing. The 2020-2021 season will be my 10th year of planning the member-ship dinners. When planning these dinners, I take into account the quality of the food and service, the restaurants capacity, their past loyalty to the club, their willingness to work with me and many other things. Please remember that I do not set the RSVP date, the menu is chosen by the restaurant to keep it in a certain price range and I certainly do not cook the food. Keep in mind that the places that you don’t like to go, somebody else does and vice versa. Now is the me for the “Ques ons, comments or snide remarks.” I would love to hear from you. Please send your comments or sug-ges ons to - Kay Schultz, P.O. Box 211 St. Germain, WI 54558 or [email protected]. Thanks, Kay
