Team History

History of SIFE School of Management Studies team is very interesting…..Jaspal Singh was reading The ET as he always do on July, 2005 and read about that S.P. Jain won the national SIFE competition and his interest arose and immediately send mail to the SIFE Country head.

So we got reply from the SIFE India in August and fill all the form and send back to the office for further processing. On November 2005, we become official team of SIFE.

Thus on 17th June 2006, SIFE School of Management Studies team is making its first presentation and hope to continue to have strong relationship with SIFE in future with more vibrant energy.

Project Need In Delhi, the project was started in partnership with SIFE

Drenthe University Team for women in Nizammuddin

Basti. They are into manufacturing of embroidered

garments but are unable to find the target market for

sales of their products domestically as well as

internationally. They have no access to information

regarding the customer preference, quality measures,

color patterns and export procedures etc.

In Rohtak, most of the women in villages are

illiterate and have no income generation sources.

These women are eager to utilize their time

productively. A conducive environment and

awareness was absent.

understanding of product, consumer preference, and different quality

parameters. Earlier we were producing the goods irrespective of the

trends but after the inputs provided, I feel it will help boosting our

sales.”

- Mohini Prakash, Head, Suvidha Division

“The efforts put in by students of SIFE SMS are commendable.

Their inputs regarding export financing, foreign exchange risk

Future goals for next year

Current Projects:

-An operational export division catering to international buyers for

Suvidha NGO.

- Rural women employment & development centre should be fully

operational in Sunaria & Girawad village.

- More number of centres in villages of Haryana and may be outside

Haryana.

- Also we would tie up with companies to outsource simple jobs like

packaging, printing etc to our RWE&D Centre.

Page 32: SIFE School of Management Studies Project Report

Future goals for next year

New Projects:

- There is growth in the rural tourism sector in the coming years

which is also reflected by UNDP & Central grants whereby they

identify villages for rural tourism and offer grants to develop the

infrastructure. The next year project will concentrate on the rural

tourism and we will focus to develop a village in a Northern State as

destination for rural tourism.

- There is surplus milk production in these areas which is not

utilized for income generation. Our emphasis to begin with will be

production of value-added milk products like paneer, ghee, khoya

and distribute them in the nearby areas. Perhaps, in later years, help

them to setup milk processing unit.
