Africa is possibly the richest continent on the globe, endowed with an incredible wealth of natural and human resources and yet it is home to the poorest people in the world. Why is this the case? At Harvest Institute, we believe that the fundamental African problem is failure of leadership. We are persuaded that in order to turn around Africa’s fortunes, we must rise to the challenge of raising a new generation of skilled, strategic, servant leaders that will harness the continent’s resources, mobilize the people towards a vision for transformation and deliver the social and economic transformation that our continent urgently needs.

For so long, efforts to turn around Africa’s economic fortunes have centered on Eurocentric Aid driven initiatives. It is generally agreed that such efforts have had minimal success over the years. At Harvest institute, it is our strong conviction that we must craft our own home grown solutions that are driven by African business instead of dependence on a reliance on foreign aid. Equipping Africans with the knowledge, skills and heart to run successful ethical and robust business ventures is pivotal to igniting Africa’s Journey from poverty and economic dependence to economic self-sustenance.

We therefore believe that the merging of hands-on business skills and practices with good leadership (skilled, strategic, servant leadership) would be unstoppable in bringing to fruition the economic transformation that Africa desperately needs.

We are cognizant of the fact that there are many factors at play but as one who intends to eat an elephant we believe in going at it one bite at a time. At Harvest Institute School of Practical Business (HISPB) our focus is to empower African business owners with practical leadership and business skills that can enable African businesses thrive to impact billions of people for generations.

We believe we can change the narrative of African Businesses by empowering African business owners with relevant practical skills to grow sustainable businesses that can operate and compete on a global scale and change the economic story of the continent.

We are delighted that you have chosen to join the Harvest Institute School of Practical Business (HISPB) and look forward to an engaging, challenging and exciting journey together as we seek to craft solutions to the business challenges that face our nation, continent and the world at large.
