SAIL traces its origin to the Hindustan Steel Ltd.

In 1968- SAIL took over the management of Maharastra Electromelt Ltd

In 1974-SAIL in export & import bussiness.

In 1978-Indian Iron & Steel co.ltd became subsidary of SAIL

In 2005-GAIL ties up with SAIL
