Download the Installer

If you will be using the locally installed ProjectWise Explorer Client, then the following steps will guide you

through the proper installation and setup of ProjectWise Explorer.

A copy of the installer for ProjectWise Explorer can be obtained from the MM ProjectWise Web site

https://clientpw02.mottmac.com/. You must download the version appropriate for your Windows

operating system, ie: 32bit or 64bit.

The current recommended version of ProjectWise Explorer is 08.11.11.590. The workstation where

ProjectWise Explorer is being installed must have internet access to connect to the MM ProjectWise

System.

The instructions below are designed for IT staff or users with administrative rights on their workstations.

Admin rights are necessary to install the software.

Once the zip file is downloaded, you will find the following files in the zip folder specific to the file that you

obtained:

· ProjectWise Explorer SS4 for Windows XP and Windows 7 32 Bit Operating Systems

Install ProjectWise Prerequisites

Before ProjectWise can operate properly, you must first install the ProjectWise Prerequisites. The

following steps will guide you through installing the ProjectWise Prerequisites Runtimes.

1. Start ProjectWise Prerequisite Runtimes V8i (SELECTseries 4) (x86).msi or ProjectWise

Prerequisite Runtimes V8i (SELECTseries 4) (x64).msi. This can be accomplished by double

clicking the msi file or right clicking the file and selecting “Install”.

Click Next.

2. Accept the License Agreement and click Next.

3. Click Install.

On 64 bit workstations, you may be presented with a User Account Control message. To allow the installation, click Yes.

4. Click Finish.

Install ProjectWise Explorer

The following steps will guide you through the installation of ProjectWise Explorer.

1. Start ProjectWise Explorer V8i (SELECTseries 4) (x86).msi or ProjectWise Explorer V8i

(SELECTseries 4) (x64).msi. This can be accomplished by double clicking the msi file or right

clicking the file and selecting “Install”.

Click Next.

2. Accept the License Agreement and click Next.

3. On the Setup Type page click Next.

4. On the Custom Setup page click Next.

5. On the Ready to Install the Program page click Install.

On 64 bit workstations, you may be presented with a User Account Control message. To allow the installation, click Yes.

6. Click Finish.

From the Tools menu, select Network Configuration

Settings.

Configure ProjectWise Explorer

The following steps will guide you through configuring ProjectWise Explorer to connect to the MM

ProjectWise System.

1. From the Programs menu, launch ProjectWise Explorer.

On 64 bit workstations, you may be presented with a User Account Control message. To allow the installation, click Yes.

3. On the General tab, click Prevent UDP for DNS and Listing and un check IPv6 Enabled and IPv6

Preferred.

NOTE: Notice the Solid black check mark or No checkmarks in various boxes under each tab.

4. On the DNS Services tab, enter the following information:

Name: MM Hostname: clientpw02.mottmac.com Port: 5800

Place a checkmark in the Prevent UDP checkbox. Click Add.

5. On the Datasource Listing tab, enter the following information:

Name: MM

Hostname: clientpw02.mottmac.com

Port: 5800

Place a checkmark in the Prevent UDP checkbox. Click Add

6. Click Apply

7. Click OK

8. Exit ProjectWise Explorer and then restart ProjectWise Explorer.

9. Login using your MM ProjectWise credentials (username and password)

ProjectWise Explorer is now setup and ready for use.
