Hi Everyone Just a quick note to say thanks for your help regarding the fun run! Fran handed out the prizes last week and we have now tallied all the sponsorship. we raised $13.7 K for the event, which is massive for such a small school… the fundraising group can’t believe it! This wouldn’t have been possible without the help from the everyone within the school community, the volunteers on the day, teachers, office staff and parents…so, great work everyone. A special mention to Fran, who got lumped with a few extra (big) jobs, and didn’t complain once! Really impressive effort and result. Thanks again!! Also, a huge thank you to the 10 wonderful people and 5 littlies who attended the working bee last Saturday! They were very busy and were rewarded with great coffee (thanks to Nathan Reynolds) and luscious cakes (thanks to Rene McDonell). The P&C Environment Committee would love to keep having one working bee each term so keep an eye out for the flyer next term. You can certainly see where these workers have been! Thank you! Dear Parents and Carers, Today our 2016 Kindergarten students are having their final Kindergarten Orientation session. Mrs Quilliam and Mrs Standley have had a lovely time getting to know the children and I am sure they will all be ready for their first day of Kindergarten in 2016. This Wednesday and Thursday, Mrs Standley will attend a Leading Learning Conference. The Department of Education is equipping Assistant Principals to lead Professional Development in schools and Mrs Standley will be learning a great deal and bringing her skills and knowledge back to our staff. This will benefit all children in the school. Yesterday, we were thrilled to be able to host a morning tea celebrating the launch of the new Life Education Van truck. This was quite an event with local dignitaries and media attending and a number of our students were interviewed by the media! This Friday the SRC are having a mufti day. Students are asked to wear red and bring a gold coin donation to support the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. Last Wednesday, students in grades 3 – 6 attended the Day For Daniel presentation and met Daniel’s parents, Denise and Bruce Morcombe. The Morcombe Foundation relies on donations to continue and this is our school’s way of saying thank you for the opportunity presented to our students. Tonight our CHORDS students will be singing at the CHORDS performance. I am very excited as I have the opportunity to attend and I can’t wait to see our students on stage! Today is Mr Griffith’s last day at North Wagga Public School. We all wish Mr Griffith the very best in his new position as Principal of Macksville Public School. Attached to this week’s newsletter is some information regarding Whooping Cough, provided by the NSW Department of Health. Please read this carefully as there have been a number of Whooping Cough cases reported recently. Enjoy your week! Warm regards,

Kim Woodside, Relieving Principal TOWN INFORMATION from Mrs Librando Thank you to the 7 parents who attended our TOWN (Taking Off With Numeracy) information session last Tuesday evening.
