to parents of children enrolled for this program. Our highly successful transition program is a wonderful way for our 2020 Kindergarten children to become familiar with the school settings and start to build friendships with other children.NAIDOC RECOGNITION Yesterday, our school took time to recognise NAIDOC Week by holding a special assembly. We commenced our recognition with a presentation from local Aboriginal artist Sean Choolburra. It was a really positive assembly with lots of singing, story time, dance and the chance to interact with Sean on stage. There were also special awards presented for aboriginal artwork winners from each stage. Following our assembly, all students had the chance to sample a kangaroo sausage and crocodile meat. Thanks to Mrs Williams and staff for organising the day. Our children had a great morning.
ATHLETICS CARNIVALMany thanks to parents who supported our athletics carnival on Wednesday. It was a cracker of a day with perfect weather, lots of student cheering and enjoyment. It was great to see a number of really impressive individual results along with outstanding participation by all children. The day ran extremely smoothly (thanks to Mrs Hill for her organisation). SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTSDuring the holidays we had new artificial turf laid on the stairs leading up to the library and the path leading to the Kindergarten rooms. Our PBL pencil signage can now also be seen at the entrance to the old hall. They look fantastic and reinforce our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Learning. The school spent $30,000 on these projects.
