  • Major Projects at LNL

    •  SPES: facility for Radioactive Ion Beams and Production of Radio- isotopes of medical interest. •  IFMIF/EVEDA: for the International Fusion Material International Facility, LNL is in charge of building the RFQ accelerator , which is now installed and being commissioned in Japan •  ESS : For the European spallation source, LNL is in charge of the Drift Tube Linac (DTL)

  • SPES

    The main project for the future of LNL is SPES: Selective Production of Exotic Species, in which the dual role of the laboratory as a center for fundamental and applied science is very clear. SPES is a second generation ISOL facility with two main goals: •  Production and re-acceleration of exotic beams. Study of nuclei

    produced in advanced stages of stellar evolution. •  production of radioisotopes for nuclear medicine
