Incorporating ResearchReady into Blackboard Learn Using LTI Integration

When logged in as a Group Admin, access “Manage Groups” from the Admin drop-down menu.

Access LTI Information

Access LTI InformationFrom the Manage Groups page, select LTI from the Actions menu.

Access LTI InformationOn the LTI integration page, select the tab for Blackboard Learn information. Please note that you can also incorporate LTI by Class as well as Group.

The Blackboard Learn Administrator will need to add ResearchReady before educators are able to add it to their courses. When logged in as an administrator, click on System Admin.

Add LTI to Blackboard Learn Account

Once on the System Admin Panel, under subsection Building Blocks, select Building Blocks


On the Building Blocks page, select LTI Tool Providers.


On the LTI Tool Providers page, select Manage Global Properties.


On the Manage Global Properties Page, apply the following settings under Feature Availability.


On the Manage Global Properties Page, apply the following settings under Default Configuration.


Back on the LTI Tool Providers page, please click on Register Provider Domain.


On the Register Provider Domain page, enter in the following under the Provider Domain Status section.

Once you setup the new provider domain, click on the arrow next to it and click on “manage placements” for the ResearchReady domain.


Click on “Create Placement”.


You can enter “ResearchReady” in both the LABEL and the HANDLE fields.

Content Type: ToolsORStudent Tool (if content type: tools is not available).

Enter the following in the Tool Provider URL field.The other fields should already be filled with the information you entered previously

Create Access in Blackboard Learn Account

Teachers can now add ResearchReady to their courses. First, they need to select the course they want to link ResearchReady to.

On the course Home Page, click Content.

On the Content page, click on Build Content and select “ResearchReady” under “Tools”.

You can name the tool “ResearchReady”, and save.

If you add a description in this box, DO NOT USE ANY LINE BREAK. This will block the connection from Blackboard to ResearchReady.

ResearchReady was added as a tool in your course. You will then be able to register and/or login to ResearchReady (as well as your your students).
