Vision Statement
Incarnation Parish is a Roman Catholic community centered around the Lord Jesus, a living sign of hope to all that the Word made flesh dwells among us. His presence and love is encountered in all areas of our life together, especially in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in Sacred Scripture and in the Sacraments. We seek to make the Lord's presence and love known through service and edu-cation, through evangelization and through con-tinual conversion and renewal in Him. We entrust our life together and our sharing in the mission of Christ to the protection and intercession of Mary,
Mother of the Lord and our Mother.
CHRISTMAS GIFT TO MY CHURCH.
A special Christmas collection for the parish
is being taken up now during Christmastide.
The Christmas letter from the pastor asks
that every parishioner prayerfully make a
fair share offering during this holy season.
Extra Christmas collection envelopes are in
the church today for those who did not re-
ceive the mailing. The whole Pastoral Staff thanks you in
advance for your Christmas Gift to YOUR Church.
Feast of Faith Series: This Is The Mass: The
Source and Summit of Who We
Are!~ We invite everyone who would like to
explore our Catholic Faith more deeply to
come and reflect on Holy Mass throughout
this coming year. The next of the sessions—
“The Liturgy of the Word - The Word of God
is Like a Two-edged Sword” takes place
Tuesday, January 21 at 7:30PM. Save the dates for future
sessions on Feb 18 and May 12 - all Tuesdays at 7:30.

AND A VOICE CAME FROM THE HEAVENS, SAYING, “THIS IS MY BELOVED SON, WITH WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED.”
FROM THE PASTOR’S PEN
I was ordained a priest on June 26, 1993. As great as that day was I cannot just see that event as one day. When
I woke up this morning I was ordained a priest. No bishop, choir or family was present but I was still ordained. For
those of you who were married 47, 32, 18 or 2 years ago try explaining to your spouse that your marriage vows were
only valid for that one day. Good Luck with that!
As we celebrate the Baptism of the Lord it gives us ample opportunity to reflect not on the day of our Baptism
once upon a time, but on the reality of what it means to be a Baptized Christian in the present. When Jesus was
Baptized, the Father’s Voice reaffirmed that this was His Son with whom He was well pleased. Through our Baptism
we are adopted by that same Father. We are pleasing to Him. Do you feel any different from those who are not
Baptized? Hard to say, I guess, but we have to be different; act different; see things different because of our relationship
with our Heavenly Father. We make the Sign of the Cross so often that it’s hard to separate the Father, Son and Holy
Spirit. Then why is it so easy to separate ourselves from our Father in Heaven?
On the day of His Baptism, Jesus begins His Public Ministry. He leaves behind the peace and security of the
town and home of Nazareth. His Mission is to be Son to His Father and please God in all His works. On the day of our
Baptism we are commissioned with the same tasks: to be a Child of God and to please Him. The details are different
for each of us but the Mission is the same. Sadly we get bogged down in the details and forget the greater task at hand.
After fifty-two years, I’m still striving to live out the Mission as Child of God and be pleasing to the Father. The details
are different every year; a fact that makes things both exciting and difficult.
As this new year begins I ask that you reflect on how you are a Child of God. What in your life is Godly? How
do you feel connected with your brothers and sisters who also are numbered as Children of God. 2020 will give us
ample opportunities to please our Father in Heaven. The majority of those opportunities will be through worshiping
God (old fashioned coming to Mass) and serving our neighbor (old fashioned kindness and understanding).
This Mission came to us on the day of our Baptism and like ordination and marriage it’s something lived out
each day.
God Bless!

LIVING LIGHTS. Securing an Annual Living Light Vo-
tive Candle to Honor a Loved One, Remember a
Special Intention, or Mark a Milestone is a contin-
ual and wonderful way to celebrate sentiments and
offer intercessions of remembrance, hope and
gratitude. Two wall mounted electric candle
stands now hang in our church on either side of the newly
restored and expanded Saints’ Shrine. These unique and
inviting candles are made of real wax with electrified illu-
mination to insure your Living Light burns brightly
throughout the year. A plaque displaying the name of
your loved one, your intention, or your milestone will be
mounted before your Living Light Votive Candle. Plaques
will remain for the year you have secured your Living
Light and may be renewed or rededicated for additional 12
month periods. In addition to its rightful place before
your Living Light in the Saints’ Shrine, your Loved One,
Special Intention, or Milestone will also be included in the
Living Light Section of the Parish Website. See the blue

The Shepherd Speaks
This feast makes us rediscover the gift and the
beauty of being a community of baptized, that is, of
sinners — we all are sinners — saved by the grace
of Christ, truly integrated, by the work of the Holy
Spirit, in the filial relationship of Jesus with the Father, wel-
comed into the bosom of Mother Church, making possible a
brotherhood that knows no barriers or borders.
May the Virgin Mary help all of us Christians to
maintain an ever keen and grateful awareness of
our own Baptism and to faithfully follow the path
opened by this Sacrament of our rebirth. Ever with
humility, gentleness and firmness.

MINISTRY OF HOSPITALITY. Those who are inter-

parishioners to our doors at
Sunday Mass are asked to contact Father O’Connor for

NEW PARISH PROCESSIONAL CROSS. You may
have noticed the new addition at Sunday

please feel free to introduce yourself to the pastor or one of
the deacons after Mass today. We kindly invite you to
come to the Parish Office and register as a member of In-

of the year statements of your contributions to the church
through regular use of the envelopes. We can also help you
with letters of recommendation for employment, schools,
