Company Problem

• Due to the financial crisis the company took serious hit as the existing customers included leading commercial banks in the US & Europe.

• Now the company wants to rightsize its employees by about 1200 FTEs (Full Time Employees) across the three centres.

Company’s Action Plan• Avoid retrenchment unless there are no other

alternatives.•Plan for migration of employees to other

business areas. •Consider salary cost implications, while

planning man power movement•Constitute a committee consisting off site

directors and heads of HR & Finance to work on various alternatives to address the situation and give recommendations with in 15 days

Committee’s Recommendations• Classify the affective employees into three broad

categories i.e. High Performers , Good Performers & Bad Performers.

• Place the bad performers on notice for 2 months for retrenchment.

• Identify the opportunities in other areas i.e., the telecom and ISP verticals, & redeploy all the high performers and some of the good performers

• Explore the option to redeploy the remaining good performers in domestic operations with reduced pay through a fresh temporary contract.
