2. Who is Harriet?
- She was a runaway slave from Maryland
- She is known as the Moses of her people
- She lead hundreds of slaves to freedom
- She found the underground railroad
- Later she came a spy for the Civil War
- She also became a nurse
3. More about Harriet
- Her name at birth was Araminta Ross
- She was one of 11 kids
- Harriet helped over 300 slaves become free between 1850-1858 all through the underground railroad
- She moved to Pennsylvania and joined the abolitionist cause. They worked to end slavery.
- Soon she became a conductor on the Underground Railroad that helped free slaves
- That is how she found the Underground Railroad and lead to many slaves to freedom
