Cyprus TaxThe Cyprus government are trying very hard to encourage foreign investment in to the country.To help foreign investors who would like one of the excellent immigration policies available in Cyprus they have reduced certain tax on property purchases.

VATWhen purchasing a new built property in Cyprus the net property price has VAT added to it which is 19%. The Government have stated that if the client is buying their first property in Cyprus, the Government will give them a rebate of 14% which means that the client will pay only 5% VAT.

Transfer FeesTransfer fee tax is paid when the clients name is transferred on to the properties title deed. The tax is on a scale 3%, 5% and 8% depending on the cost of the property. The Government now says that if the property has VAT, their will be no transfer fee to pay saving thousands of Euros for the client.

Capital GainsCapital gains is 20% on the profit of the selling price, there is no capital gains tax to be paid it has been abolished for first time buyers.
