TASTE IS THE KING OF THE SENSESLife is sustained by food. All the other senses, with all of

the powers of the mind and body, are used to get a living,--toget food. All of the other senses and powers work for thesense of taste, -- to satisfy its demands: whatever the senseof taste requires, they work with all their might to obtain,--

they are the servants of the sense of taste and it is the kingruling over and directing them. Therefore, if that which thesense of taste demands is right, all of the powers are dailyused in doing right; but if that which the sense of tastedemands is wrong, then all of the powers are engaged indoing wrong.
